Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yay. I totally got my office Secret Santee the perfect gift. It was something she was even thinking of buying herself. I rock.

Ailleann-thanks so much for the egg nog nods. Ima try it!

Do the shopping escalators there require carts with special wheels?

Not that I’m aware of Raq, all the carts seem ‘normal’. I can totally see the frustration of shopping with a child…only two arms!...but this particular escalator seems pretty rickety to me and there are oodles of signs that make it seem dangerous. Honestly, not making a disparaging comment about parents in general or especially Buffistas…never would!

Tomorrow is the big day. Submitting my resignataion. Phew! Much, much more relief-making than scary-making...but I could sure use that fantastic Buffista ~ma for no financial stress. Wibble.

K-Bug is making Peppermint Bark right now also. AIFG.

Me, I'm trying not to panic over the job thing. Our company is s......l.......o.....w about hiring, so it will probably be forever before I hear anything.

I should probably put together a real resume. I haven't done that in YEARS. I've been here over 15 years. I doubt I could even find one of my old ones. Geeesh.

Not to make your life worse, but I'm sure someone is saying, "We should wait to make these decisions after the first of the year." Might be budget constraints--or, they want to lay claim to some of the budget, so they need to hire someone fast.

Either way.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

On the Christmas Carol thing, there was a production that ran at Madison Square Garden for a while (starting in the early nineties, and still running as of a few years ago) that was a musical. I thought it was pretty good. They made a TV movie of it a year or two ago with Kelsey Grammer as Scrooge.

Right there with you on the resume writing Suzi. Best of luck and ideas to you. And an even better great job outcome!

Our wings are not tired

Omnis is working on the same Christmas Carol that I've been on for the past 3 years. He's been stuck with it for about 10 years I think. This year was something like year 28 for this theatre.

You have it exactly, Connie. I really doubt they would move before the end of the year though. If it is a go, the two big hurdles are letting me stay here and not move, and allowing me time to train someone. Though, that is already in the works. If my assistant does not come back in January, I am already scheduled to start training someone in February.

Baby steps. And that is ok.

The last couple of days have been such an emotional roller coaster. I cried at work today - something I HATE. Now I'm just totally drained. Bleh.

I wish I could hop in my car, drive across the bay, and snuggle me some Matilda. Baby snuggles....mmmmmmmmmmmm.

She's over at Deb's house right now, actually. So you could probably get baby huffing and a free gourmet meal and a glass of wine.

Emmett's busy with his math homework. This conversation is pretty much "Dad! I need help." "Just look at the definitions of the geometric shapes and think for two seconds. Then you'll know how a square can be a rhombus." Over and over again. Except...sometimes parallelograms and other times obtuse triangles. But all the questions are basically about understanding the properties of specific geometric shapes.

Also, he's started on the periodic table. I need to get him some Tom Lehrer.

My temp assignment on Monday was cancelled and replaced by another temp assignment starting on Monday. Now I won't be working at the law firm I used to work at five years ago. Now I'll be working at a law firm that I've never worked at but located in the exact same building as my last employer.

In short, I will be getting double takes on the elevator come Monday.

Bunches of -ma for MM and CaBil.
