Joyce: Dawn, you be good. Xander: We will. Just gonna play with some matches, run with scissors, take candy from some guy, I don't know his name.

'Beneath You'

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

On the Christmas Carol thing, there was a production that ran at Madison Square Garden for a while (starting in the early nineties, and still running as of a few years ago) that was a musical. I thought it was pretty good. They made a TV movie of it a year or two ago with Kelsey Grammer as Scrooge.

Our wings are not tired

Omnis is working on the same Christmas Carol that I've been on for the past 3 years. He's been stuck with it for about 10 years I think. This year was something like year 28 for this theatre.

You have it exactly, Connie. I really doubt they would move before the end of the year though. If it is a go, the two big hurdles are letting me stay here and not move, and allowing me time to train someone. Though, that is already in the works. If my assistant does not come back in January, I am already scheduled to start training someone in February.

Baby steps. And that is ok.

The last couple of days have been such an emotional roller coaster. I cried at work today - something I HATE. Now I'm just totally drained. Bleh.

I wish I could hop in my car, drive across the bay, and snuggle me some Matilda. Baby snuggles....mmmmmmmmmmmm.

She's over at Deb's house right now, actually. So you could probably get baby huffing and a free gourmet meal and a glass of wine.

Emmett's busy with his math homework. This conversation is pretty much "Dad! I need help." "Just look at the definitions of the geometric shapes and think for two seconds. Then you'll know how a square can be a rhombus." Over and over again. Except...sometimes parallelograms and other times obtuse triangles. But all the questions are basically about understanding the properties of specific geometric shapes.

Also, he's started on the periodic table. I need to get him some Tom Lehrer.

My temp assignment on Monday was cancelled and replaced by another temp assignment starting on Monday. Now I won't be working at the law firm I used to work at five years ago. Now I'll be working at a law firm that I've never worked at but located in the exact same building as my last employer.

In short, I will be getting double takes on the elevator come Monday.

Bunches of -ma for MM and CaBil.

Sounds....fun.....Hec.

Mom is having a rough night, so I'm not going anywhere, unfortunately. Maybe we can do brunch sometime.

Yeah, that'll be fun.

Emmett keeps stopping in the middle of his homework to go over and kiss his sister. He thinks I'm not looking.

(The house rule is: Don't Mess With The Baby When She's Quiet! Instituted by me since I am the chief comfortador and it is my job to settle her down when she spirals into the arsenic hour and then JZ and Emmett sneak up on her cuteitude and Mess With The Baby and cause her to holler all over again.)

Yay we're getting Indian food!

Anyone have any good cookie recipes? A bunch of us at school are doing a cookie exchange, and I don't bake too often, and I don't have any good recipes. I looked through my cookbooks, and pretty much just found chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin and sugar cookies, which are boring. I found one interesting-looking one in an Indian cookbook, made with cardamom and ginger, but I'm not sure about it. Anyone have anything they'd recommend? The search engine at epicurious is down.
