[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Yet again, I have extra fruitcakes to send off to those who might like them. These are mini-loaves, whole wheat, with raisins, currants, dried apples, dried peaches, dried apricots, and candied ginger. Lots of rum and honey are involved, and they are basted in Calvados afterwards.

I have three with nuts (almonds, pignoli) and four without looking for good homes, so please ping me at my profile addy if you are interested.

Loves on JZ, immensely.

Running around, shopping this afternoon, a good friend called me and put my fussing in perspective for me. A good friend of hers died in her sleep two nights ago. She was overweight, had sleep apnea and pneumonia. Still, she was under 40 and had adopted a bunch of special needs kids. Who knows what is going to happen with those kids now.

The major work frustration flares up during the review process each year. I work with one team of folks, but am aligned with the group in Boise. I'm the only accountant NOT in Boise (other than my assistant, I should say). The folks I work with locally do kiss my ass - to the best of their ability - most of the time. But they are not the ones who have the final say in my raise.

Whatever. I think I'm gonna go paint something after dinner. Better than drinking myself into a stupor.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The fun thing about the dildocam is that you can feel like a human video game.

See, they move the joy-stick-ish thingy around, you look at the screen and see your insides... they move, it moves, you can feel the moving, you can see the moving... if you start giggling it messes with the images and they tell you to stop. Which can just make you giggle more.

This is very true.

sounds like Kotex. Is this wrong?

There's a funny story about him cracking his head once and his mother using a feminine napkin on the bleeding gash until she could get him to the doctor. Smart woman.

what makes someone a not!ex?

I refer to him as that in my head because, though we have never been in a romantic relationship, we did cohabitate for over three years, and I spent a long time being in love with/being obsessive over him. Me moving out was like a mini-divorce. So he feels like an ex in all the ways except the sex part. It's a relationship that I'm very glad I distanced myself from, I'm a MUCH happier person now. For a while at the end, I thought I would need to go on anti-depressants. Turned out it was pretty much just him.

Hey. New board.

Suzi's non-raise-giver is an ass. I declare it.

Bah. It's 10:00. I have no idea what to teach tomorrow. I mean, I could easily plan a basic math lesson of the normal sort, but I feel like I need to do something extra-fun tomorrow, because students are going to be keyed up for our talent show tomorrow night. I don't know what to do, though - I'm bad at fun stuff, still.

Anybody have any good ideas for a math game that will help kids reduce fractions and doesn't require TOO much preparation? Hmm. Maybe I'll have the students make cards for an Equivalent Fractions memory game. Then they can play the game on Friday! Interesting.

Oooh! Just got an email from my math mentor. Maybe it will help me. Okay, sorry about all that.

...So, because I really haven't found anywhere else to squee yet, I'll just say that I went to the Apple Store in SoHo today to see a special "Spring Awakening" event, where the writer, the guy who made the music (Duncan Sheikh - anybody a fan?), and several producers talked about the creation of the show. Cast members were there, too, and sang some songs, but they had to rush out early, since there's a performance tonight. It was pretty awesome. I had a good conversation with a couple of the producers - they took my email to discuss marketing ideas. How cool is that?

I found the vaginal ultrasound far less uncomfortable than a regular pelvic exam, FWIW.

Fourthing or fifthing this, askye.

Sorry for the crap call re: raise, SuziQ.

There was more, but I got distracted by visions of peppermint bark and kick-ass sounding fruit cake (and I don't particularly even like fruit cake - but Anne's sounds yum.).

There's a fractions version of the game Twenty-Four. You could pretty easily put together some cards for something like that, too.

Yeah, I thought about that. Love that game. I think I'm gonna go with the memory thing for now (easier to set up at 10:35 at night), but fraction 24 may get added next week. I'll probably just buy a couple of sets - much easier, and no accidental creation of impossible cards. Plus, nice difficulty rating given right on the card. Thanks!
