Does anybody mind if I pass out?

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

Also, can we agree to a bullshit consensus that there are no Ass Moms on the board, or do we need to open lightbulbs?

I'm with Lee, here.

JZ, Matilda is, as already reported, LOVELY. And since Cindy and Cash already said everything wise about how hard it can be to read a baby's signals, I won't repeat it. But I am trusting that you're listening to them. Right? Because, lo, they are wise.

Cash, I'm so glad the shot worked, and that you've got help this weekend. Sorry for Olivia's baboon ass, though. Sara was much worse with diaper rash than the boys were, and it took me awhile to realize I had to change her way more often. Just slather on the cream/powder, or give her some bare-ass time. (All of which I know you know, but I've had wine, and cried on some good friends' shoulders this afternoon, so I'm sort of rambly emo girl at the moment.)

I'll admit I skimmed, too. So I'm sending warm, slightly wine-scented hugs and good vibes (also dipped in a bit of vino) to everyone who needs or wants them.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, I agree. It's the feeling that's hard to get past though. Logically, we're all great moms. But when you feel scattered and tired, it's easy to fall into that trap.

That inner voice/demon can be a bitch, all right.

I didn't mean to make light of it. Sorry if it came out that way.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Not just the cat's ears, but I'm thinking about buying a heated cat bed for my old kitty - [link]. It could be beneficial for Harvey, too...

Do they make heated cat beds big enough for me to sleep in? Because then he could have my bed with the electric blanket to himself and leave me alone.....

Now tagless for your comfort.

I didn't mean to make light of it. Sorry if it came out that way.

Oh, it didn't! It's nice to come here and have the reinforcement that we ARE good moms. 'Cause all of us sometimes can drag ourselves down without realizing it. It's just so easy after spending the day fighting the fight that you feel like a failure, even when you're not.

Stoopid self-esteem problems. Feh.

I like erika's common sense approach, too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Stoopid self-esteem problems. Feh.

Well, your self better get it together because I esteem you highly. Both as a Mom and as a sexobjecty babe.

Always Anti-fascist!

That whole scene was worth it, Cash, cause it gave us Bodie, drug dealer all of twenty-one going up to the kid in question and saying "I met your moms yesterday."
"My moms?"
"She like a dragon lady, man... it was good though. Gave me some insight into why you is like you is."
Love that a dealer knows "insight". Oprah really does rule the world.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

ASSBABIES!!!

Ahem.

JZ, I love the picture of you on the ball during labor. It's just such a beautiful picture of the two of you. (Three, if Ms. Matilda is counted, though she's still an internal model at that point.)

And, of course, she's beautiful.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Conversations with My Uncle, Part #734

"Can you pick me up [from the San Jose Airport, even though you live in frickin' Oakland] on January 2? The answer should be yes."
"What time?"
"I'll let you know when I find out."
"Well, I can't do it if it's during work hours."
"Sure you can. Just call in sick. I'd do it for you."
