Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

Our wings are not tired.

There are no shoes on Lee's link. But I think I like them because barefoot rocks.

Yay for making out!!

My step-step-SIL (that would be my step-dad's daughter-in-law) needs some serious positive thoughts and prayers. Larry and Suzi got married October 29th. He came home from work (at 4am) a few days ago to find her unable to walk and coughing. Called 911 and then found out she had congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. None of which they had a clue was happening. She was in a coma for a couple days, BP of 239/189 but they got things somewhat stabilized. She has had several heart attacks and was unaware. They were unable to get her off the respirator, so they moved her by $17,000 helicopter 4000 feet down in elevation to Phoenix. (something about it being too hard to breathe up there)

This is not a great way for these lovebirds to start their married life. The good news is that Larry’s insurance company waved the fact that she was 2 days short of the 90 day waiting period to be on his insurance and ok’d the huge local hospital bill. The bad news, in addition to Suzi’s grave condition, is that she will have to be there for 4-6 weeks estimated and it is 90 miles from where they live. Like most of us Larry has to work so he won’t be able to hold her hand. He is in Phoenix this week, but has to go back to work Monday.

So all ~ma for her surviving this immediate crisis first, then some added ~ma for a quick recovery so that they can be together again. They are good people.

What is even happening?

Oh Laura, that poor couple. Health and strength to Suzi and Larry. Their anniversary is the same as dh and my anniversary.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

He pointed forbidingly at the night as he exclaimed, "I forbid it!"

Aww. Soon he'll be shaking his fists at clouds, a la Abe "Grampa" Simpson.

Laura, Suzi and Larry are in my thoughts. Yay for Larry's insurance company though- it's not often they do stuff like waive rules that will end up costing them money. *There's* your Christmas Miracle (TM), sadly.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Lots of see-it-through~ma for your step-step-SiL and DH, Laura. That is one rough row to hoe.

I like my new kitty, I really do. What I don't like is being woken up 2-3 times a night because he wants to be petted. I'm thinking he should be taking the Trazadone instead of me.

Because books.

Oh, Laura, much ~ma to both of them. How terrifying. I agree with Nora, though -- Larry's insurance company deserves huge kudos, because decisions like that aren't exactly common.

More snow predicted here today. By this afternoon temps are supposed to be in the teens and the "lake effect snow machine" is supposed to crank up. I hate it when they call it a "machine." It never bodes well.

Timelies, Bitches. I greet you as one who has been snapped from the jaws of cruel Death by the spinning wheel of Fate.

Or, you know, not. But! It was snowing this morning, and the roads were bad, and I almost slid simultaneously through an intersection and into a telephone pole. But not-freaking-out prevailed!

Our wings are not tired.

Eeeep! Driving in that stuff is so scary. When I visit snowy areas and am crazy enough to drive I make the locals nuts by crawling at slow speed. I figure it makes up for me dealing with tourists here.

Yay Ailleann for keeping it together!

I checked out the web cams for Old Forge, NY where my sister works. Yep, snowing. It seems to be in the low 30s, so marginal. I hope they don't get any of the freezing rain stuff. Ick!

Yes, great news on the insurance. I'm sure Larry's employer went to bat for him because he is a good guy.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

No one with my name is allowed to have grave medical conditions. Not just cause they are no fun, but reading about that and seeing my name jump out and having to check to make sure that, no, Laura is not talking about me, is pretty disconcerting. You would think I'd know without checking - I blame the lack of caffine.

Seriously though, much ~ma.

ION for those who are not on lj, my mom has been put back on the kidney transplant list. Since it is so soon after the transplant attempt, she maintains her previous place on the list. This means we could be going through another transplant in the near future. Not asking for ~ma. Yet.

Because books.

Oh, Suzi. will hoard my ~ma for the appropriate time.

Old Forge! That's near me -- kind of. (East of me, I think.)

brillig

I had congestive heart failure as part of my medical adventure a couple of years ago, plus my blood pressure was probably around that high. They were pumping me with so many drugs, they were afraid they were all going to kick in at once and I was going to plummet. And here I am, feisty as ever. So this is bounce-back-able.
