Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

ION, Dan's mom seems to love me. She gives me things - a roll-top desk, brownies, and a moccasin-making kit. She gave me a teeny tiny dictionary - from another room while we were rearranging stuff to fill in the gap where the desk was, she heard me exclaim happily over something Daniel was showing me. She said, "Whatever it is, it's Andi's. What is it? Nevermind, just give it to her."

Long Beach is the "International City"? Huh. For all of my years that I was in California, all I know for certain is that Long Beach has the Grand Prix and I love it for that reason alone. With the dolphin statuary.

I live a few blocks from one of the turns for the GP. for a week every spring, I get woken to the sound of giant sized gnats buzzing around. I haven't yet seen any of the races. O well.

I believe they adopted the motto "International City" when they acquired the Queen Mary. Both attempts at attracting tourism dollars. Rumor has it they are dropping the motto, but they need a better one to replace it.

Maybe if they cleaned the harbor and beaches, they'd get a bunch more tourism. eh, what do I know, I'm just a NYer living in CA.

Dude. Vortex introduced me to the buffistas back on Table Talk! Before it was the Buffistas! Late in 1999, when I was temping...

Lucky you. Can you smell the fuel and burning tires? That, some coffee and a cinnamon roll with more sugar than is strictly healthy and you've got the best morning ever.

If the wind blows right, a lil, but not really, thankfully. Ugg. I'm with you on the Cinnamon roll. Mmmmmmm. I'll pass on the tires, fuel and coffee. Pass the OJ please :)

As for the giant gnats. Ya. Um. Sound guy. I like it quiet. It's not so bad when I work that weekend. But if I have it off. I'd much rather sleep in.

What is entertaining is the race fans who feel the need to skimp on the $12 parking and clog our over-parked streets. They FLOCK to the empty side of the street... Miracle! A whole side of the street empty! As they walk away, if they look nice, I gently point out, "Street Sweeping" and notify them it's a $35 ticket. It'd be cheaper to park closer and pay the toll than the parking ticket.

The status is NOT quo.

How'd the new doctor turn out, Kristin? It's always nervous-making for me to meet a new doctor and hope it's going to be someone I can click with.

The good news is that I really like her! The bad news is that she told me all the same "get healthy, exercise, no sugar, blah blah blah" stuff that doctors seem to think is important.

Ah well.

Also? Gained 5 MORE lbs. Dammit.

t tacklehugs everyone in thread, just cuz

Omnis, Vortex is coming to visit ND and me this Wednesday! We are lucky lucky people.
