I don't know how it happened. I kinda want to turn the clock back. Of course, if he'd just move out the rest of the way (he's gone except a day or two every couple of weeks for laundry and to catch up on his sleep) we could fix up the basement as a family room. Obviously I'm ambivalent. My baby! More space!

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Man, knowing Nick is 21 makes my feel older than the fact my daughter turns 27 in a month.
ION, I appear to have acquired a cat. His name is Elliot.
Elliot is an awesome name. What does he look like?
Pitch black, with orange-gold eyes. And he's a snuggler. I'm in cat heaven.
Oh, he sounds like a lovely cat.
My daughter got a roommate and between the two of them, they had five cats and a dog. For some reason, they seem to think that reducing that by one cat will make a difference. NSM, I'm thinking, but I got a cat out of the deal, so there is that!
Well, maybe they kept the four that teamed up with each other. I think that Elliott wound up with the best deal: a human he doesn't have to share!
sumi, I think you must be right. Elliot sure doesn't seem to be missing the other cats and he's adopted me quite handily. He already comes running to the door when I come in and I've only had him half a day. Hee.
Other people have offered, but I don't yet feel like it's fair to them or the kidlet to take them up on it,

Okay, tonight wouldn't have worked, 'cos we were out. But I have meant every offer of Tickybox-wrangling I've ever made, and will not mind in the least if you call and say "Hey, there's a thing I want to go to, would you mind watching the Squeak?".

I am waiting until she's less of a handful and a half. I think the Geneva Convention specifically addresses this. And I think she may qualify as a weapon of mass destruction.
She's getting into comically absurd trouble.
She tried to ride the cat.
(Not kidding. She stood over Shiva's back, looked up at Paul, and said, "Ride?" like she does when she wants a hippo ride.)
She's finally crashed out asleep.
Man, I could use a beer.
