Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Okey dokey.

And thank you. meara picked it out. I never would have even considered it, but she pushed it on me. I wanted the black satin 50's style cocktail dress. She said, "No".

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

This is so very painfully pretty.

It is. I would buy it right now, except that it's only 38" long. It's almost 40" from my waist to the floor, and if I wore heels (heh, I typed "hells"), it would not sweep the floor dramatically as it was meant to do. I'm bookmarking it anyway.

t giggles uncontrollably

I'm always so amused to see how similar and yet how VERY different our fashion woes are. My version of the above is, "It is. I would buy it right now, except that it's 38" long. Even if I wore heels, it would not sweep the floor dramatically as it was meant to do. It would instead mop up the floor and trip me as I attempted to hike up up enough to walk. I'm bookmarking it anyway."

Yeah, but at least you can have it trimmed. I can't make up material out of thin air!

Whereas I looked at it and said "Huh. Very pretty, except it looks like the pleats are stitched down too far for me to fit a petticoat (or three) under it. Oh well."

ION, holy crap, it's cold outside! We hiked up to a local cafe for lunch, and then went to the grocery store for some supplies. My ears are still numb. However, ankle-length skirts petticoats, and wool tights kept my legs warm.

You can get a tailor to add a wide band (or ruffle) of lace to the hem. 5" wide lace is easy to find on eBay ...

That particular one could be professionally altered, I suppose, but angled pleats are way too complicated for my feeble sewing skills. And actually, most of the things I want to buy that are too long for me can't be altered because they are not just too long on my legs, but also on my waist and hips. Most irking.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

38" long skirts hit me right at my ankle, provided that they are fitted to the waist. However, since I have the Short Waist O' Dooooooooom, fitted waists tend to be very uncomfortable. (Seriously, the jacket I lent Jilli goes to mid-hip. It's insane. No off-the-rack bustiers for me!)

Nah. You have a better rack.
