Well, it's just good to know that when the chips are down and things look grim you'll feed off the girl who loves you to save your own ass!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

This girl has done pretty much the same thing 4 times, exactly the same thing one time before and still...

After the second time, my girl donated money to George Bush's re-election campaign in my name as her revenge, knowing that I'd never want my name associated with GWB. I'd bet folding money that she thinks of this not as revenge, but as a joke. Giving me yet another example of why she and I cannot be friends because we cannot understand one another.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

It's a fine line between wanting to salvage and stalking. That said, I don't know.

I've been cut off with no real explanation and the thoughts of "But! But! But!" Eventually, I just had to let it go. They had some reason that was enough for them to sayonara our friendship, and while I may never know what that reason was, I had to stop trying to understand because chances are, I wouldn't.

Eh.

This is why we should all live in caves.

This is wisdom, but sad and hard to accept wisdom.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

You could send a note or call and say that you'd like to discuss it. If they say no, leave it. Either they're not ready now, or there's nothing salvagable.

FWIW, if this girl came to me to say that she wanted to discuss it, I would. Friendship would still be over, but I would calmly and kindly explain why.

Amen to that.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oh dear heavens, my college alumni association found me. Slick, shiny magazine showed up in my mailbox, full of many pages of how fundementalist Christians should view fundementalist Muslims, and one page of begging for donations.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

No offense to those of us who are with the ovaries and whatnot, but there was a VERY good reason most my friends in high school and college were guys.

Oh goodness, a world of this. Though even some of those are dropping the ball, when you think on it. I'm wondering if I'm reaching another "shed some old friends, make some new ones" phase. Shame is I don't add more than I lose.

Catching up on all the talk of food made my lunch seem inadequate. I spent the holiday with family, and though I brought home many side dish leftovers, I ended up with neither turkey nor pie. Woes.

Thankfully, my nephews continue to be adorable, and my BiL's parents decided not to start any crap this year.

Please send motivation. Mine's run off somewhere.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Has anyone here had a migraine where they see something that looks like a lightening bolt obscuring their vision in one eye? I don't get migraines, but I got the eye thing last night for the second time. The first time was a year ago, and the emergency room I went to seem to think it was an occular migraine.

What is even happening?

Yes, sj. I get all sorts of vision symptoms with my migraines (actually, I get those more than bad headaches, when I get migraines). Sometimes, it looks like the rays on the top half of the sun (but I can't see the sun). Sometimes, there's just no vision in one eye. Sometimes, it's like a flashbulb went off. I can't say I've had the lightning bolt shape, but it still sounds like a migraine to me.

It's interesting you had it about a year ago. That makes me think there's an allergy trigger or tie-in, or else you're eating more of something at Thanksgiving, than you would at other times, that is triggering you.

Mostly lurking...

sj, sounds like it to me.

ION, decorating by yourself isn't nearly as fun as decorating with other people.
