You always think harder is better. Maybe next time I patrol, I should carry bricks and use a stake made out of butter.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Cass, if it's any consolation to you, EM is in the arms of her strong new BF tonight, and we'll be spending the early afternoon tomorrow at her house, and then all of us will go to JZ's dad's place for T-giving. So she's not alone and she's got some places of safety.

ION, JZ is talking to Matilda: "Who is my biggest boo? Who is my littlest moo?"

Now tagless for your comfort.

Just got a call from my sister:

Mom, 4.

Deer, Nil.

She's fine but this is the 4th deer she's hit in the last 5 years. She's an awful night driver and has shitty reflexes. And her car's a total loss.

Mostly lurking...

Your mom or your sister hit the deer? I'm confused.

Yowch!

She's an awful night driver and has shitty reflexes.

But she has a great recipe for venison stew?

And her car's a total loss.

Shit.

Mom hit the deer. Mom always hits the deer. Sister called because Mom was going to the ER with the friend who was riding home from Bingo with her.

No deer is safe from my mother.

The irony: Mom's allergic to venison.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am glad she is safe and adored tonight and in the immediate future. Actually that makes me feel a lot better. Weird to be upset about the lives of people I have never met but I have been concerned for EM recently. Nice to know she has a nice new BF and a lovely extended family that takes care of her.

Ack, Cash. I am sorry about your mom's car but glad she is okay. And, yes, venison stew. [Whoops, allergies.] I haven't had large critters around until recently and am now quite skittish about us meeting on the road.

Ack, Cash. I'm glad your mom's okay, at least.

Me too. There are a lot on the roads around here, including the circular one I live on, which has a lot of blind spots.
