Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Eep. I killed Bitches.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I seem to be missing hair. My hairdresser used a razor on my neck. That hasn't happened since I was ten.

not sure at all how I feel about it

I know how I feel about it. Pictures!

Robin, if I lived in LA I'd come over with every bottle of product and hair accessory we have in our house and fuss with your hair until you felt supremely gorgeous (as you are). Take heart in knowing that even two weeks makes a big difference on short bangs.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Hello buffistas. Remember yesterday...I fussed about snot and statistics. Lather, rinse, add work, and repeat for today. Instead of getting any work done yesterday, I slept. Procrastination was not good - now I have 3 assignments due tonight. One is done, another just needs proofing, and the last is a team assignment and I'm team leader (surprise).

I would rather see pictures of Robin and Beth's hairs.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I feel like I've been gone ages and ages, though I think it's only been a couple of days. Also, ZOMG, I'm tipsy. First time since last December.

Minor attempt at catching up:

I second everyone else's first impression of the snarky, self-possessed and stylish Tep, and would add that I was horrendously intimidated by her and everyone else at first meeting because, as Robin noted, I am SHY. I do much better at smaller F2Fs, or, at the big F2Fs, with people I've already previously met. And I'm just slightly too tipsy to run down a full list of first impressions of everyone, except to note that everyone was generally foamy and very, very familiar -- something about the board culture makes it possible for people to express themselves very much the way they actually are in meatspace; voices and heights are an occasional surprise, but most first in-person impressions are somewhere in the range of "Even prettier than in your pictures!" and "Yes, of course, it's you!"

Also, as I noted many months ago on first meeting her, libkitty is low-key but exquisitely witty and has gorgeous expressive eyes and really cool glasses, and I wish her mom could see and properly appreciate her manifold goodness instead of leaving long soul-stomping messages on her voicemail.

ION, Matilda had her first shots today, two in each thigh, followed by her first crying with actual tears. We both emerged completely shattered -- I did manage to comfort her, soothe the tears away and lull her to sleep within minutes, but it was an utter dagger in my heart to see water spurting out of her eyes all over her face. She's hard asleep right now (I keep checking nervously, but she's neither fretful nor feverish; so far so good) and I'm mildly martini'd.

Also, in the last week, while breastfeeding I've read Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, two Charles Williams novels ('30s-40s mystic Brit novelist, friend of CS Lewis), and about a quarter of a Roald Dahl omnibus Tep sent us a while back. Currently in the midst of The Secret Garden and some Garrison Keillor. Recs for further BF reading will be gratefully pounced on.

Also, man, I miss everyone. Looking forward to more days when Matilda isn't nursing constantly and using up all my hands.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Oh, yay!

Have you (or your lovely daughter), perchance, received anything else from me lately?

Err.

Hmm.

Well, I'm BFing right now (AIFGTime Consuming), and I'm reading... umm.

Well, this. But without a laptop, I'd probably be reading Pratchett or something.

Tep, YES. It is made of awesome and I can't wait for (a) Matilda to grow into it and (b) warm enough weather for her to wear it. Which will probably happen at about the same time. LOVE IT. Thank you!

Am still tipsy.

Also, did you survive the weekend? I was thinking good thoughts for you all through it.

Woot!!! You're very welcome. I happened upon it by sheer chance, and knew it was the Universe telling me that the Littlest Smay needed it.

Oh, thank you! And I did survive, much better than I had thought. In fact, The Boy is sitting on my living room floor right now, cutting out coupons (he has a minor obsession with coupons -- it's endearing and frightening). So I think that means All Is Well.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You know, I don't think we've seen any Matilda pictures in a while. Perhaps we should all spring for a Matilda-cam....

Our wings are not tired.

Glad I popped in before seeking the pillow. Very happy to read All Is Well. And most lovely to see JZ's font.

Too tired to attempt further conversation.
