Lorne: Back in Pylea they used to call me "sweet potato." Connor: Really. Lorne: Yeah, well, the exact translation was "fragrant tuber" but…

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

My spectacles bring all the boys to the yard/And their dicks are harder than yours/Damn right; they're harder than yours./ I can "read" ya, but I Have to charge

I dunno where that came from.

Oh, yeah, the dormant B&D chamber that is MY SOUL!

Erin, I cracked up at your description of trying to explain Perkygoth to your students. I can just picture the confused expressions, poor munchkins.

I call them my "little ducklings" all the time. All this little badass BG's and they wince EVERY TIME. But now some of them quack at me. I love it.

Hec's voice threw me. I expected him to have this basso, and...not! But the energy -- yeah! I expected him to break into to two on the dance floor, and the parts, they would keeepppp oooonnn groooovin'

shrift -- immediatley pulled out a bottle of Maker's Mark and started illegally blowing smoke out the window of my non-smoking room with me. and she's fuckin hott. Yet, I didn't hate her. Strange.

JZ -- look likea teeny little antelope-bunny mixture with cute hair accessories

erinaceous looked like what I want to be when I grow up.

Sophia looked beautiful and fabulously put together. Lots of animal prints, and she was amazingly gracious to me as a roomie.

Plei, to me, always looked like dark willow, and we had the same hair coloring and body type 'cept she was skinnier, so I felt immediately comfortable.

Trudy was TALLER than I thought. Everything else was unmistakeably her.

More later, cause I'm going to a poker game and I gotta do my hair and makeup, and pick up some wine.

Because books.

I thought of more! I like this game. It's very comfortable to sit here and think about SF2F on a rainy Saturday evening at home.

Kristin = wee and wicked and so very friendly.

JZ = Clara Bow, with a little bitty belly, and all the wisdom I expected right there in her eyes.

Raq = shyer than I expected, and gorgeous. Also taller. (But most people are taller than me. Except Kristin.)

Votex = taller than I expected, and absolutely stunning.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Votex = taller than I expected, and absolutely stunning.

(And? Also a little intimidating.)

I think it's the combination of stunning and smarts.

Someone do me. I'm feeling forgettable.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh come on, admit it. The first time you saw Juliana you thought, "I'm going to keep her in a velvet cage."

...

You know me WAAAAAY too well.

Mmm. That sounds porny.

You're right. You and Anne did. I'm forgetful and scattered tonight. More wine caffeine!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Now I'm getting so excited about this year's F2F. (Wherever it happens to be.)

What is even happening?

Your vocabulary is much too advanced for 8.

This reminded me of my latest mommy-brag story. Today at Chris's basketball game, he didn't want to pass the ball (because that requires giving up the ball), but was pretty effectively blocked and couldn't move. Everyone was yelling to him to pass it. He was yelling back that he didn't want to.

The age director came over to Scott and said, "Is that your kid?" Scott laughed, and admitted he was. Then the director said, "He is funny. I remember him from try-outs. When it was his turn to come up and shoot, I handed him the ball, and he said, 'I require a lower basket'."

While they were at basketball, Julia and I were at Bed, Bath & Beyond, buying a hypo-allergenic pillow, pillow cover, complete mattress cover, because Chris has had to go back on the nebulizer. I also bought him a wedge-pillow (sort of like this [link] because he's been coughing a lot at night, and we've been trying to prop him up with two pillows, but he doesn't stay on them.

I showed him the wedge-pillow when we got home. He said, "Hey! A slide!" Then he said, "Really, mommy, it's shaped exactly like a ramp."

When I agreed, he then said, "Of course, it's an inclined plane."

I just looked at him.

"Don't you know what an inclined plane is, mommy?"

"I do. And you're right. It is an inclined plane."

"How do you know about inclined planes, mommy?"

"Um. I learned about them in geometry. In tenth grade."
