Simon: I, uh... I never-never shot anyone before. Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet.

'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

eta - that was not in reply to Teppy's comment.

Heh. I was about to challenge you to a duel over P-C's foxiness.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I think I expected you to be more serious, but every time I saw you, you were a bundle of energy -- bordering on mischief -- with that great smile.

Hee. The seriousness is all a facade!

Plus, you're pretty foxy.

So is that!

Not really.

I think my first impression of you was, "Wow, she's REALLY happy to see me!!" And then you jumped up and hugged me and kissed me and made me feel welcome. So whee.

Teppy, I didn't get to spend a lot of time with you at the F2F. I don't know how or why that happened, but that was lame. Next time!

The foxiness can't be a facade, unless you're wearing a human mask over your true visage. Could that be true....DICK CHENEY?!?!?

Teppy, I didn't get to spend a lot of time with you at the F2F. I don't know how or why that happened, but that was lame. Next time!

I was kind of scarce, especially in a mental sense. The sheer number of people at an F2F seems to drain my energy more and more every year. And the thing is, I know all of you, so it's not in an "Ack! People scary!" way -- it's just in a "Holy HELL, that's a lot of people!" way.

Definitely next time. I was hoping to make it out to SF before the end of the year, but between mountains of work and virtually no vacation time left, it won't happen. But as soon as possible in 2007, I'll be there.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Now everyone do me.

I bought you a chicken sandwich, right? That was the first time, I think, when you came out to SF to scout jobs. You were still cookie dough. The thoughts you were expessing online were not quite manifesting yet in your real life. (That's changed since.) Nerdy and emotastic. A little guarded. Witty. You did not seem to be aware or know how to capitalize on the fact that you are a very handsome guy. (Uh...not with me. Just in general.) There's a big difference between when I first met you and where you are now.

The secret's out!

Yeah, I got that too. Well, more of a combination of the two. Heh.

Yes, it was! We had gelato and everything.

The thoughts you were expessing online were not quite manifesting yet in your real life. (That's changed since.)

Hm.

You did not seem to be aware or know how to capitalize on the fact that you are a very handsome guy.

That's because women don't seem to be aware, either. Recent declaration of foxiness notwithstanding.

There's a big difference between when I first met you and where you are now.

That's...odd. Maybe it's just the circumstances you've met me in, but I don't think I've changed that drastically.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You were very pretty! We're kind of used to that now, but I don't think you'd been so generous with pictures of yourself before people met you. You were making a case for spinsterhood, and it seemed at odds with your physical person.
And really? The shiny, fabulous hair. Because *every* time I see Anne, I am just amazed that she has managed to PhotoShop her hair in reality. Shiny, shiny, just really lovely hair.

Our wings are not tired

I'm home. It's so good to be home. Kristin and I are heading out for food and some shopping and fun today. She just needs to hop in the shower.

I don't expect it feels that different to you. I think I was one of the first Buffistas you met after tommyrot - so context has changed. Certainly your circumstances have changed, and I think some confidence has come out of that. Not just the job and move but your experiences in VM fandom.

That's great! Glad you're back home.

Well, I'd also met Aimee and vw and Miracleman and Emily and...maybe some others. Debet and Kalshane and, well, everyone in New York Nillytown. So...you lose!

Not just the job and move but your experiences in VM fandom.

Heh. I was entrenched in VM fandom for over a year before I first met you, and not much has changed about that since then.

What is even happening?

I've never met P-C, but I felt like after the SF F2F, people finally got to know the P-C I already knew he was from online.

I'm completely unsurprised at Erin's description of Teppy's voice.

I was completely surprised by how bubbly Nora is, in person. I was also going to say I was disarmed by Allyson in person, because there's a softness there, that doesn't always come across online, but then I remembered I'd talked to her on the phone a few times, quite some time before we met, and that's when I discovered the softness. Her voice is higher than I'd expect.

Hec, You talked faster and at a higher pitch than I expected
This surprises me. That is, I'd pegged Hec's voice as deliberately slow and low-key, and a teensy bit hipsterish, around the edges.
but your wicked but kind smile is just what I thought it would be. You also have a wonderful positive energy in person that is a pleasure to be around.
This does not surprise me.

Hey, Teppy...did you ever straighten out your ISP? What was their deal?
