[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Fay, the pastor at our church got taken for (I think) $500 U.S. dollars (of his own, personal money) by a con artist who hit several area churches before being caught.

It made me love him (the pastor) more. Like you, he knew there was a chance he was being swindled, but also knew if the person's story was true, then the person really did need help. If/since you can afford this, I think you did the right thing.

The idea of Karma, proper, doesn't sway me. But I do believe our actions have ripple effects, and you've just dosed the pool with some love, so good for you.

vw, why are you up? It's terribly late.

Yeah, well. I had slept for a while already, so. Toto was freaking out over the rain/wind. All is well now. I went back to bed and just got up.

Am I the most gullible person on the planet?

And possibly not. Either way, what you did was a good thing. Like Cindy said, chances are this person really needed it, no matter what the reason.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

What Cindy Said, Fay.

Argh. I fell asleep with my glasses on, rolled over, and one of the earpieces fell off. Guess I need to add a trip to the eyeglass repair place to my schedule today. At least it's in the same building as somewhere else I need to go.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Fay, you're a kind person and you did a very good thing.

That was my first impression of sj. I have yet to see a picture that does her justice.

Aww, Teppy is good for the ego.

brillig

I've just received email from the Office of the President of Nigeria! I feel so special that I won't even question how I could possibly have an inheritance fund waiting for me in Nigeria.

Our wings are not tired

I'm in a cab about to head for the airport. That's right, on my way home to my sweetie.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No one knows who the kilted man was, but he sure cleaned up that town....

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yay! for reunions.

Fay, I agree that it always feels better to help someone possibly in need than to protect oneself from scammage at the possible cost of not helping someone. Reconciling the "I may have been scammed" feeling, though, is hard.

Wishing Jilli Felicitations on the Anniversary of Her Natal Day, and many happy returns of the day!

Even I couldn't clean up Cincinnati.
