Did you complete it, Strega?
Heh, no. It was linked on a board I lurk on, and for a while I was doing pretty well and was just following along when I needed a hint. I got probably 3/4ths done, and was pretty much stumped on everything else. And then they solved the meta-puzzle, and I lost interest.
It was definitely a fun time-killer, but I didn't feel compelled to complete it.
Oh! And yes, what dcp said has the ring of rightness.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Hil!
Add me to those hating the early darkness. I don't have SAD as far as I can tell, but going all day without seeing any sun doesn't help.
Trying to catch up, sorta...
I have an embarrassment/humiliation squick.
Oh, me, too. I can't watch anything like The Office or Meet The Parents. No interest in Borak at all. It's just painful. I guess I identify too much with the poor fuckers everyone's laughing at. Much as I enjoy Jon Stewart, I have to leave the room during the interview parts. (I'm heartened to learn that most of the interviewees are in on the joke. But some of them - I don't understand why they allow them to show it!) I generally turn Colbert off after The Word. I still can't stand to watch I Love Lucy (and the fact that Lucy has always reminded me of my mother doesn't help).
And yet, I laugh like a hyena at America's Funniest Home Videos. People falling down are funny as hell. Maybe it's just because I know the people involved consented for the tape to be shown, and they really weren't injured.
No, it'd probably still be funny.
As a matter of fact, Colbert says the trouble a lot of times is that interviewees are SO into the joke that they want to do "comedy" and they have to tell them just to state their case and not try to add jokes or anything.
Leave the jokes to us, sir. We're professionals.
"Cultural earthquake."
Huh, Kathy, I thought I felt the earth move, all right!(Yes, I have major Special Comment love, and later my Countdown love grew from "Yeah. I wanna see that guy rank on the President." to actual appreciation.) For which I thank the internets.
I hate saying goodbye to clothes, and I know my size and weight wavers. So they stay, making me sad with their inaccessibility.
Welcome to my world! While I was in SF, I bought a pair of jeans, a size up, the exact syle and fit from the Gap. I have two pairs of these already in a size smaller that fit fine. And the new ones? NSM with the fitting.
I also have a dress to send to msbelle. And a skirt that might work on you.
I'm also hesitant to tailor any of the skirts I have down now that I seem to be blossoming again in terms of weight. Oh size 4. I will miss you so.
Hmmmm, Bones is 2 hours this week -- meaning that the last hour conflicts with the first hours of the 2 hour premieres of Daybreak AND Medium. Why must tv viewing be so complicated?
You know what's annoying? Being a physics major 10 years out and realizing how much you've forgotten. A friend asked me her son's bonus question. My first reaction was
der.
Except then I started thinking and all the margins of knowlege I have made me question the der and now I just feel stupid and like my brain is leaking out my ears. Depressing.
Anybody else watching The OC?
Dr. Roberts is going to Seattle Grace?
Seriously?
Really?
I wish that he would show up on GA.
That would rock.
I was bitching about the early sunset earlier, but apparently I have forgotten Winter up north. My sunset today was 5:31pm, NYC was 4:39pm. I'm thinking Rio might be a good plan. Their sunset was 7:14pm.
I could live here in the summer and Rio in the winter. It could work.
