The optical scan things take longer than the punch cards but it's like coloring!

A's are moving to Fremont. (beth and Matt's nabe)
That sucks.
agreed. I guess Cisco is building a stadium. no direct Bart connection. and I think it is a bad move for the city of fremont - it is usually a loseing proposition.
at my polling place the scanner jammed.
so into the locked bin for a later scan...
Mine too. You don't secretly live in my neighborhood do you?
I won't tell :)
to maintain my "doer" reputation.
1) I am at work today
2) Paperwork to get mac on my insurance is filled out.
3) Dr. appt for mac has been made.
4) 2 of the 3 pieces of info I needed from Board of Ed have been obtained.
Bad news of the day is that it seems that mac's school does not have any afterschool program.
maybe we do live in the sma e neighborhood - seperated by time and space. - the true test, if you voted in the afternoon would you get one of Nancy's cookies?
I always find it interesting to listen to what the poll workers are talking about. The first time I voted in Chicago they were putting together a pool on how many voters there would be in that precinct.
This time they were mostly fielding questions. One woman wanted to know why she couldn't vote for Tammy Duckworth and Melissa Bean. Once it was explained to her that those women were running in other districts, she wanted to know why all their ads aired here.
Another woman was noticing that all the signs were in English/Spanish/Chinese and was asking if other languages were accomodated. I heard them mention Korean and a long list of other languages. They seemed to think those were only available as touch-screen ballots, though.
Is there going to be a language issue for a while, msbelle, or does Mac have some English?
Also, I used to work afterschool progams in NYC -- you can look into the local YWCAs, because very often they will pick up from neighborhood schools, and then you pick up your child from there. I worked at Lenox Hill Neighborhood Association (E. 70th St., IIRC), which was like a Y but not, and that's what we did.
Ohio's Secretary of State is no peach, either.
Imagine if he were governor....
msbelle, in addition to what AmyLiz mentioned, I know there's no after-care program at our school, but there is a Y bus to the aftercare program at another school in town.
