I must have been in one of the few places in Europe that actually played a lot of American pop. Very small town and big Navy base. It took over most of the bars and clubs in town when it came to dance music. Not that all of Journey was danceable to, but the ballads made great macking music for the dance floor.

London got a fair amount of American pop--Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner. Just really not hair bands. I was startled to learn of their existence.
