Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

I do not want to know how an office of 18 can have more than 3 departments.

Everything about this is bad.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My office has 18 people (20 if you count the part-timers), and we have 4 departments. Actually, 5 if you separate Finances from HR.

oh my. 2 people gave notice last week. ANd I just got told that another is giving notice on Monday.

Oh dear. The craziness is catching up, I guess?

It's cold and rainy here. I hate driving at twilight in the rain. Road and sky are pretty much indistinguishable, and the contrast everywhere else is very low. It's a pretty and interesting asthetic, but it royally sucks to drive in.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You want to hear from turnover? My office, not including consultants, has roughly 30 people - sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less. We totted up the number who have left since minion and I came on board, about 3 years.

COO who just resigned is number 60.

18 to 20 people are one ... thing. Twenty people working together with 5 organizational boundaries seems like a recipe for failure.

Well, this is my company's 40-year anniversary, so they've been doing something right.

I get seven org boundaries off that, counting the folks who float between stuff -- who are the folks we call 'management' when we are in our cups.

I could easily give accounting its own silo. Call it eight 'departments'. Maybe nine.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hmmm. I'm going to be holed up writing all weekend, and feel like I should get myself a yummy dinner. Not looking for a total calorie-fest, and something that will reheat well.

Suggestions?
