Actually, I'm right there with you, Jesse. I think the other place people go wrong with generalizations is in thinking the generalization always applies in every individual case.

It's in defining the group that I think many people go wrong.I'd agree with that much. I think that was kind of my point when I said that if the Nerve piece actually said it talking about people on Capitol Hill, I'd be okay with it.
But "white people who move to DC" didn't strike me as a particularly precise definition. And... my head hurts trying to follow the solipsism argument.
