done a few Bonderaunt classes.
::sigh again:: And, you know Boundurant, too!!!
I come by my madness through genetics.
Me too. We're an entire racing family (though mom hasn't in awhile). HSR Daytona is in a few weeks. :D And, no open wheels in our family. House Rules.
Daytona is the *best*! First race of the season and lots of drivers pop in from other series. Love. It.
Oooo. Have you ever been to the 12 Hours of Sebring? Another awesome race.
Wasn't Danica the one where one of the spoilsports said it was unfair to allow her to drive because she was so tiny she got a weight advantage? I wonder what he said was the reason he was beaten by all the men who finished in front of him.

Heh. If that were true, racecar drivers would all look like jokeys.
Yeah, though I must say, weight really does make a huge difference in racing. But, she is an excellent driver, and even if they added weight to her car, she'd still be the boys.

For style or safety?
Really would love to go to Sebring but I have never been. Riverside had good enduros and fun places to watch them from the infield.
Next year is likely to only be Champ and ALMS at Portland for me though. I would love to see the street race in Phoenix so maybe that as well.

Ah, the spoilsport in question being Robby Gordon, who I adore but man did he get hell for saying that. As Airstream says, weight matters but she is good as well.
I grew up watching Indy on Memorial Day weekend, so I know the big-name racers from the 1970s and early '80s. Dad's nickname was AJ Foyt, due to his lead foot. After that, I know nothing, but Dad has become a huge NASCAR fan (they go to the Joliet track on the big-ticket race weekends for the entire weekend to socialize as much as to watch the race).

Safety. My parents saw a guy get killed at Mid-Ohio in the early 70s, and ever since House Rules say no open-wheel racing.
Obviously, you're in the Portland races. From the guys I know who race ALMS and GrandAm, it's their least favorite track. I've never been there so I have no opinion. My new favorite track has to be Miller Motorsports Park outside Salt Lake City. However, the ALMS guys didn't have as much luck there.
And, if you ever make it to Sebring, be sure that you have a male companion. The infield is referred to as the Zoo, and to say the least, it verges on insanity. Wait, it actually is an insane place to be.
So...how about that Holiday Crate & Barrel catelog? Anyone else get that today? Oh, the pretty things! I see some peppermint bark in my future! And maybe some snowman kitchen decorations.
