people are unusually talky towards you, shrift.
PR: eeee I'm so happy that I finally got to see the finale! So, Michael, as ya'll have said: great disappointment. It's interesting to me that they used the same reasoning as they did with Kayne, that it was a question of taste. Not they they were wrong--you knew that boy was headed for trouble the moment you saw those damn sequins.
I really enjoyed Laura's collection, from a purely aesthetic point of view. While I thought it was really bitchy how she called the producers on Jeffery, especially given how hard he took it, and then turned around and was like, "aw, didn't mean to make him cry!"; well, despite the drama her clothes were gorgeous and impeccable. I don't necessarily agree with chartreuse. But you could tell the judge from ING was ready to sign her collection for mass production and sale almost off the runway. On a related now, how on earth do you raise five boys in a Manhattan walk-up? My god, use some prophylactics.
re: Uli. While her clothes are largely not to my taste, the first half of her collection took my breath away. it was such a savvy use of nude + silver + a hint of gold. Just lovely. Frankly, I thought she deserved to win. Either way, she's going to have a very positive career, you can tell.
And finally, Jeffrey. Oh, Jeff Jeff Jeff. You're such a badass with a big squooshy center. And your girlfriend is super-gorgeous. I don't know, his models sucked and while he was certainly thematic and made very intelligent transitions throughout his collection, I don't necessarily see vision there, not like the judges do. And certainly not that doesn't have a distinct precedent. You know, it's been bugging me that they get onto Laura for being one-note, but in a sense Jeffrey is too. I don't think he's necessarily bringing anything especially fresh to the table either. But I think what he does do he does very well. I don't know, I think he deserved to win. But then, I think Uli did too.
Of course, now that this is over Top Chef is starting, which is another new round of drama for the reality-addicted. Anyone else going to watch?
