If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I kind of liked his music. Laura's, OTOH, played right in to the judges' issues with her skewing too old/classic and not bringing anything fresh to the table.

I felt like Michael got too caught up in the idea of his theme, actually. It made me wonder if, after all the weeks of the competition, he was having trouble coming up with ideas without being handed a hook. IIRC, he had some trouble earlier in the competition on challenges that didn't provide much direction. That said, I don't think he executed it particularly well either. A disappointment on several levels.

What is even happening?

Happy Birthday, Calli and Burrell!

but Flickr is broken this morning. Damn.

I know! I was going to link to some pictures from the west coast, but it's broke like a broke thing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, I thought all their music sucked. And possibly this is just 20/20 hindsight, but I don't think we've seen anything like Jay's final collection since. His was weird and thematic and interesting and FASHION, you know?

I need coffee, only yesterday morning after fruitless repeated attempts to pay, I eventually walked out of the coffee place in the building lobby with free coffee. I think it's too soon to try there again.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Runway -- I wasn't unhappy that Jeffrey won, but I was rooting for Laura. I *loved* her long lace dress over the skinny black pants outfit. OMGWANT.

I also thought that ALL of the models were having trouble walking. Jeffrey's were the worst (I know models aren't supposed to smile, but they're still supposed to look like they enjoy wearing the clothes, right?), but all of them seemed a little wobbly and uncertain -- I've never been backstage at Fashion Week, but I think the runway must have been just plywood over grass.

Punishingly Intricate

Sumi, my friend and I were saying the same thing about Jeffrey's models! WTF?!?! Except for Marilinda (? the one from the competition) they were completely awkward and lifeless. And OMG his music was terrible for a fashion show. What the heck?

Really I thought most of the models were terrible, except the ones from the competition.

I was also disappointed with Michael's collection. But even though I didn't look at the pics posted from Fashion Week I was bracing to be disappointed after last week.

I've no doubt, though, that they'll all have good careers after this.

I'm totally wearing my black lace dress today in honor of Laura.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

She is. I saw it.

I'm trying to decide if I want to spend my extra hour plus a little here online, or wandering around Manhattan and window shopping.
