I'm sorry, I never understood the logic behind drying dishes. They're going to dry anyway by themselves, right? It's like waving a shirt around and going all "phoo" on it instead of hanging it to dry by the wind, in my eyes.

When we went to visit my brother, I cooked/washed/dried and put away. At first the washing/drying was sorta novel because I haven't hand-washed dishes since around 1981 (we even have a full size dishwasher on the boat). After about 4 days, I was totally over it though.
I don't mind doing dishes, no big. Very often I'll be washing my cooking dishes out before I sit down to eat.
I have a small apartment with a tiny kitchen. I have to wash as I go, or it gets really ugly really fast. I almost always wash all my cooking dishes before eating.
I just watched Cooking with Feminists on Colbert. Am dead from laughing.
Oh god, that was hysterical with the "Kiss the Cook" apron and Jane Fonda snogging him multiple times.
I also just about died during the guest segment when he "ran" over in the red high-heels and at the end with the "Mrs. Colbert" sash and the tiara!
I wash as I go on THanksgiving. We have no dishwasher and it just makes things so much easier.
Comedycentral.com finally posted Cooking With Feminists to the video section. Now I need to go watch it another zillion times.
A word to people wanting to catch-up with BSG via Netflix: Make sure to get BSG: The Mini-series first (essentially a 3-hour pilot which answers most of the questions I've seen here), then Seasons 1, 2, and 2.5. I'm only on Disc 1 of Season 1 now, but I'm loving it and looking forward to catching up to Season 3 on my dvr.
megan, we don't Net Flix. Is the mini-series available to purchase? Do you know, is it included in the S1 DVD box set, if you buy it? What is season 2.5?

This. We've had a dishwasher since around our first anniversary. We worked together when we first got married, and so our deal was I always that I'd cook and he would clean up. When we moved to our second apartment, we needed to buy a fridge, and came out with a dishwasher, as well. When you haven't had to do it for a while, washing dishes is kind of Zen. For me, drying never is, though. It's very much what Nilly said:

My heat just kicked on. Finally. I would think snow outside might be a good indication that indoor heat is called for.
On Jericho, I'm disappointed that not!St. Louis ex-cop seems to be a part of a large conspiracy. I think the show could be more interesting without a known/present big bad. I like his kids though. "Who is always going to take care of you?" "Mommy." Heh. As for Mr. Mayor, anytime I can say the last line of your speech before you do, it's really not a good thing.
BSG S1 includes the mini. BSG S2 was released in 2 parts (because of the loooooooooong hiatus), as 2.0 and 2.5. They will also be releasing the entire season in one box, but I don't know when that comes out.

Yup, and I really hate the putting away part. The kids take turns putting away the dishes for part of their allowance. Best money I ever spent!
