I am having gmail issues.

This is encouraging...people on my office are thinking maybe gmail is blocked.

I've been having gmail issues at home -- but I think that's more a my computer problem then a gmail problem.

I haven't had any gmail problems this morning.

I really liked Heroes, and liked what I saw of the second episode of Studio 60, though I fell asleep and missed the end.

I am having one nagging problem with S60, though -- I like the writing and dialog, and they do a really damned good job of making the characters interesting, but I'm still having a hard time caring about network executives and sketch comedy writers, even when they're played by Bradley Whitford, Matthew Perry, Amanda Peet and Stephen Weber.

Sean K! Yes: I mean it's one thing to be all into the innerworkings of the White House but it's really difficult to care as much and in the same way about the inner workings of a tv show.

My husband said that last night. "It's very self-important, isn't it?" He's not a huge Sorkin fan, though.

I don't know if I agree with him, though. It's not that the show is *about* this TV show, but about these characters, who just happen to work in TV. I guess the difference is that when a show is set in a hospital or a law firm or a police department, the characters' problems generally seem a little more sympathetic.

That said, I love Matthew Perry, so I'd probably watch him read the phone book.

See, I think it's fascinating. But mostly it's the character interaction that I dig, so it could be set almost anywhere, and as long as it was well-written and the characters were 3-dimensional and complex, I'd be happy.

Sorkin made me care about people that worked on a television sports show long before I watched any sports, so I still have hope for Studio 60.

The end is worth catching, a funny musical payoff, but it was very weird to see it the same day that John M. Ford died.

Did Sorkin do a G&S thing on Sports Night too?

I got a few minutes into the pilot of S60 and had to stop. Not sure why. It and ep 2 are still on the TiVo, because I guess that was justa strange mood thing.

The best advice I can give from my own experience is to get very methodical about certain essential items, such as putting your keys in the same place every time

Overslept this morning. First time in years I've done that on a work day. Not sure how I managed it, since the alarm was set correctly.

Despite waking up at the time I usually leave (and almost 2 hours late) I made it to my desk a little earlier than I usually do. I maintain a lot of fat in my schedule, but managing to be showered, dressed, have lunch packed and pack a krav bag in 20 minutes? Surprised even me. Perhaps the fog worked in my favour.

Off to read the Heroes whitefont. Didn't love it. Will watch ep 2.
