See, this is the power of the hivemind: I'm poking my aching head in here to whine about said ache of said head, and even before I type a single letter, somebody comes up with an answer.

Nilly, I don't know how you would feel about Deadwood. It's full of sex, violence and profanity and takes those things (mostly the violence and profanity) to an operatic level of excess. And yet, it's a show with real heart about the coming together of community. It's just a community of misfits, gamblers, whores, and killers.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The receptionist at my headache specialist recognises my voice.

Of all the not good signs out there...

Heh, this suddenly makes me wonder what Firefly would have been like if it had been on HBO.

Sounds like something I may be interested in sort-of watching, but with fast-forwarding so much of it, that watching it is useless. Oh, well. It's not easy being so vanilla.

ita! Oh, protector of my innocence, I've mentioned you on Friday: one of my roommates went to a kickboxing lesson and had the time of her life. She was so thrilled with it, it reminded me of what a great time I had at your krav lesson, so I immediately started describing it. They don't carry it where she took the lesson, of course, but if she could have boarded a plane right then and there in order to take a lesson from you, she would have.

And I would have welcomed her heartily.

Really.

No, I think that's scheduled for later today. Don't want to mess with the scheduling.

Also, to bring things full circle, last night I noticed that Zach Whedon (Joss' brother, right?) was listed in the credits as an assistant to David Milch. (Everyone else probably knows this already.)

I'm aghast that someone would pick I've Had the Time of My Life as a song to play at a funeral. Haven't the poor mourners suffered enough?
