So I have to make a choice between the iBook and PowerBook listed here:

ugh, Allyson, unexpected expense is the suck! I bought a refurbished iBook last year directly from Apple and it was less expensive than the one listed on your link. And it's been a joy! I wanted a Powerbook because ooh bigger! ooh shinier! but I really didn't need it for what I do.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Huh... refurbished Powerbooks? I wonder if they have those....

::suddenly all tempted::

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, they got them in Intel and G4.

I don't think I can link directly, but go to Apple/ store/ refurbished

refurbished Powerbooks

sure! They have refurbished everything (well whatever they have in stock, not everything is available always). It worked out really well for me. So much cheaper (by like $500 or so) and the computer came loaded with all the latest software and has worked beautifully.

At the Apple store, there's an $799 refurbished 12" iBook G4. That's the same price as the new one on Allyson's link.

eta: Identically configured too.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Now, whenever I hear of someone about to give birth, I think, "I wonder who's in there?" Soon we'll know.

An article in Newsweek International about how we are losing in Afghanistan. What's weird is it shows the covers of Newsweek in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the US. The Afghanistan story was the cover story everywhere but in the US. Here the cover story is something on Annie Leibovitz.

Does Newsweek think that we in the US just don't care about Afghanistan? Or are they afraid of pissing off rightwingers?

My vote would be the latter.

What is even happening?

Shame on them for not putting it on the cover, here. Shame.

On MSN, they have a clip of Clinton giving a FOX reporter hell on Bin Laden. It's not helping me love Clinton any less.
