lays in supply of bubble wrap
Am also sick. Will make chicken soup with ginger and cellophane noodles for dinner tonight. yummy and easy.
Hivemind question: what's a classier word than "free"? I thought about "gratis", but thought that was pretentious. I need to say that we don't charge the normal fees if the student is part of a particular program, but want an easier, shorter way to say it.
I just got hair glitter on BigLibraryBossMan. YAY me.
Pro bono?
"usual fees are waived for students in Program?"
Oh, juliana, ouch! And yuck for flu.
AmyLiz, that's what we are doing. I'm hoping it's a growth or developmental spurt, but man is he pissed off. It's definitely an assertion of will thing. He's always been really good about getting to sleep on his own, and if he wakes up during the night he mutters himself back to sleep, but this is wow. As soon as he sees the PJs or the crib, he becomes a whirling mass of knees and feet and hands and head.
He actually kicked me so hard in the bladder it brought tears to my eyes. Which brings me to UTI Doctor Visit II: Electric Boogaloo.
Yesterday they didn't give me ABX or drugs because my white blood cell count wasn't elevated, right? Today, same deal. A lot more blood, elevated temp, but the dip strip didn't turn purple like it would for white cells. However, I ended up chatting with the doctor and nurse for a bit, because we are friends (and they showed me how to use the cauterizing pen), and after that the nurse looked at the dip strip again and it was WAY purple. Just took a while.
So I've had this untreated for a whole day. Grr argh.
OTOH, I got free anti-spasmodics out of it, and free Cipro. (Which, dude, do I have anthrax? Do I need something with that many side effects? But okay, whatever)
Oh, juliana! We're going to need a bigger boat a lot more bubble wrap, clearly.
It's definitely an assertion of will thing.
One of the less pleasant stages of toddlerhood. It will pass, though, I promise. In the meantime, dig your heels in. And feel better! Poor thing. UTIs sound really awful.
{{{Raq}}} Feel better and tell Mal the Empress orders him to be nice today and go to bed like a good boy.
Cipro does a bang-up job with UTIs, and the other antibiotic of choice (Bactrim) actually has a larger side-effect profile. So I'm always all "Go Team Cipro!" when I get a UTI.
I can't take Bactrim, as the last time I had a UTI, I wound up getting a rash.
Should I get another, I suppose I'll be on Team Cipro. Yay?
Good to know, Jen! The doctor asked me, "How do you feel about Cipro" and I replied, "Love it! Take it all the time! Make Cipro ice cream!" so I guess that was the right response.
Gar. I just made the mistake of reading BabyCenter trying to get sleep advice. Now I'm all upset again about how retarded Mal is.
