Hey, Kristin, can we go when I'm in LA? I love planetariums.
sitting in my gorgeous B&B in New Orleans, drinking a glass of wine that I got in a to go cup at the bar half a block away. I love this town.
I'm watching the performing arts channel (more listening because it has nice classical music) there is a silent film on with a Nosfreatu like character wearing something that looks suspiciously like a crown of thorns, exhorting the hero to "wear the cap of knowledge". Hmmm.
tomorrow, I will go to the French Quarter and settle the muffaletta debate. I will have one with the olive salad, one without.
Sounds like a lovely day, Kristin. I R jealous of the planetarium show.
(the one with olive spead will win)
I'm watching NCIS on the CBS site. Will be driving home from Pensacola tomrrow.
It was truly an excellent TAR. (This season of TAR rocks!)
ION, I spent so much time on the sofa resting and elevating my injured leg that I now have a sore neck and shoulder.
Sigh.
Vortex, when exactly will you be here and available? I need to make reservations ASAP--they may already be sold out.
I have to join in on the awesome day bandwagon. I'm at a wonderful, fascinating conference; it's in sunny CA, so it's the first concentrated sun I've had in ages; and best of all, I had dinner at a lovely, funky place with Java Cat, Sparky and Sparky's DH. Librarians, sun and buffistas. It just doesn't get better than that.
One thing at the conference made me laugh. As a side discussion, the speaker was talking about using blogs for marketing library services, particularly screencasts. He mentioned a couple of options, and then, to make the point of considering your audience, he said he didn't know if LJ would be effective because it was all teens posting their diaries. (This wouldn't be effective because the audience in the session was almost all special and academic librarians - no school or public.) Anyway, I had no idea you all were so very young!!
On re-read, this may not be hysterically funny. I may be a bit myopic right now. Dang, I just love hanging out with librarians, though!!
I can't complain much about the day, either. Spent the day in the sun, surrounded by a bunch of sports fans. Then came home and watched some baseball.

last week in November, probably. arriving Sunday. anytime in the evening that week would be possible.
Where did you end up staying, Vortex?
Cool! You can go here to purchase in advance. I recommend ordering the tickets from the shuttle at the Zoo rather than Hollywood and Highland. The last tickets are at 5 or 5:30, so if that's not late enough, you might want to get weekend tickets. If you go on the weekend, I'll totally go with you.
