Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

Fiscal responsibility is a good thing. Maybe one day it will be a concept I understand better.

Suzi is me. And yay for feeling human.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Also, now I want a Pumpkin Latte.

Me too! Which is precisely why I drifted into a Starbucks just now. But they're not doing the Pumpkin Spice Latte anymore, afaik - it was a short time flavour-of-the-month thing (my friend, when I was saying how yummy it was, could NOT get over her revulsion. Try substituting the word zucchini for pumpkin to get a sense of the sheer fucking randomness of that flavour, from a nonUSAian perspective). Which means that I stared blearily at the array of things on offer, realised I didn't really want any of them, and that buying a latte, after 4 espresso Martinis and two pints of Diet Coke, might be suicide, and instead purchased a hazelnut hot chocolate.

Except that these days I have a really hard time drinking sugar. It makes me feel headachy and nauseated quite quickly. (Thus the whole Pumpkin-Spice-Latte - drinking-experience normally goes yum yum yum yum oh shit bleagh!)

Hmph. Am idiot. Also a trifle wellied and jittery. Also typing this from school, as I ducked into the building on the way home from the pub to make shameless use of the internet, and to avoid the get-into-a-cab-and-spill-molten-chocolate-on-self experience.

Hmph.

Have spent the past 5 hours in pub with NotDavidHewlett and Mrs NotDavidHewlett (who is fucking lovely) and a couple of other coworkers. Continue to have moderate (and quite different) crushes on NDH and Mrs NDH.

Sigh.

Possibly I need to get out more.

I think I need a translation this time.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay Anne! I didn't get to watch the game because we had school activities. (see below) Hugs to those that lost.

So nice to see you back Fred. Did you take lots of pictures? I want to hear more stories!!!

I had to blur my eyes to skim all the pie and fudge talk. Evil!

We have our first HS Homecoming week activities and such. Social butterfly that is my son is really into the whole thing. Except he won't go to the dance tonight because he won't ask anyone. Color me not surprised when he changes his mind at the last moment.

He dressed out for Spirit Day this morning. 3 pairs of sock in the school green, white, and orange. (yay for years of soccer that I had them on hand) And we did his hair. Yes, this is really his crazy thick hair. Please please please remember that the picture of me is at 6:30 this morning after I finished his hair and let us not mention it again.

The pictures are big, I didn't shrink them. Hopefully your browser will do that. I gotta shrink them before I send them to his grandparents.

Full length in front of fridge (it was still dark outside!) [link]

Another full length (this is what happens to those cute little babies) [link]

With his helpful Mom (he loves me so much today for doing this) [link]

edit to fix links and giggle at Fay

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Great pictures, Laura!

I'm in Wheat Ridge, and all your Nicole are belong to me! If I were a better guest, I would make coffee for when she wakes up, but I may go back to sleep instead.

GREAT pictures, Laura. He is so big!!!

Today is Homecoming for K-Bug's school too. A whole group of girl had special shirts made to wear to school today and to the game tonight. It is the one football game she HAS to attend each year, though I doubt she watches a moment of the actual game. Miss. Social Butterfly.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

trifle wellied

My best guess is nauseated.

Indeed. Though it would probably be courgettes, for True to Life experience. However, Americans think chicken-flavored potato chips are disgusting (in fact, I think I gagged just a little now) so maybe we're even. Oh, and butter on sandwich bread. That's blechy too.

Laura, your boy is so tall! I bet even I would feel short.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hey Sail - I have a Navy question for you....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thia is true, Suzi, though it would involve outside pants.

hmm.
