I had a whole section about civic pride.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

move out and draw fire

We just impulse bought two gorgeous handmade carpets. Wool on wool, natural dyes. The cat is rolling around on them in ecstasy.

It feels good. I haven't haggled for carpets in EVER, and I haven't done a damn thing to make this place homey, so this feels really good.

Also, I've sold several things from my Zazzle store, so that feels good too. (If any of you are the buyers, thank you!)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Shirley MacClaine did the 1969 movie version. Gwen Verdon was nominated for a Tony in 1966 and Christina Applegate was nominated last year. In the 80's, Bebe Neuwirth won a Tony for a supporting role and Debbie Allen was nominated. (I kinda dig Sweet Charity.)

SEE??? I know NOTHING.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Have fun at the play, Aimee.

Sara just held up her toy phone and informed me she had a text message.

Bwah!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I think you'll really like it, Aimee. Charity is really charming and I can totally see Molly Ringwald playing her. Another song you might recognize is "If My Friends Could See Me Now."

Oh! While thinking of musicals, I don't think I told y'all that I went to the premiere of The Pirate Queen last week. It stars Stephanie J. Block as Grace and she was good. It was good, but it still needs some cuts and tightening up before heading to B'way. I don't think it'll be a hit, but it should get nominated for lights and costumes. Hadley Frasier plays Tiernan and he was fantastic.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

feel like a zweiback that has been eaten and vomited up again.
Ooof. I think skip over, not do over.

House is as prepped for Nicole as it is going to get. Cat is shot. Need to shower and head to the airport. And coffee. Neeeeeeeeeeeed coffee.

Mom sent me an orchid. It's lovely. A Swiss Beauty. I'm going to kill it. Seems kinda unfair.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

oooo, wool rugs. My cats always chew on them, though, rather than simply rolling around on them in ecstasy as they ought to do.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ooof. I think skip over, not do over.

Yes, this. Hope you feel better soon.

I scared the cats with the evil vacuum. Puppycat is now sleeping in the space between the tops of the cabinets and the ceiling. It's kinda cute.

I *really* need to jump in the shower now. Right about now. Any time now... This is me - jumping. thwump

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Now that I have reached the age of 50, I have truly entered the exciting joyride known as perimenopause. SUCH a pleasure! Throw out your old calendar, as your period can come at any time! Sometimes after 9 days, sometimes after 40 but never ever when it's supposed to! To make it exciting, one visit will be massively painful and flowy and involve every possible accompanying hormonal discomfort and the next will be demure but go on forever! Symptoms which used to be exclusively premenstrual will show up for no reason three days in! Each period can stop and start for no discernable reason several times! All of these symptoms are, of course "Natural" and "Part of the Process."

Feh.
