Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK, getting a teensy bit freaked out. I just glanced in the mirror, and I've got a whole bunch of tiny little red spots, like popped blood vessels, all over my cheeks and around my eyes. Huh?

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

Hil, were you crying at all recently? Because I get those all the time when I've been crying.

Nope.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hil, if you were *whitefonted for grossness*wretching or dry heaving when you were vomitting earlier, you could have burst some tiny blood vessels in your face I had those from labor with Olivia--but that was from the pressure of pushing.

That sounds like it could be it, Cashmere.

It will disappear in a day or so, Hil. I hope you're feeling better and getting some rest.

Since Jetblue opened a hub in town, I suppose there really isn't any reason I shouldn't plan a trip to NYC soon, is there? I mean, $138 total (tax & everything) for a round trip next weekend!

Flop

Finally home from the big mom retrieval trip.

It started just after 10 (tuned into the A's game in the car). Got to the Kaiser Pharmacy in Sacramento just as the Twins tied the game. SPENT AN HOUR trying to get all her drugs. I asked a few times if they had checked to make sure everything was there as the hospital would not discharge her without all the meds.

Back in the car and the A's are up 4-2. Pull into the parking lot at UC Davis Med Center, score is 5-2, bottom of the ninth, 2 outs. Find a parking place just as we get the last out!

Then we discover that 5 drugs are missing from the huge bag from the pharmacy. We finally had everything and got to leave at 4:45. Right into rush hour traffice, featuring the first rain of the year and a 3 car accident.

Did I mention flop?

eta - I'm such a selfish bitch. Mom is doing ok. Very tired but glad to be home.

glad mom is home and doing better.

It got close, but Matt did not lose his vacation . But close enough to drive me to junk food. . I am very tired and way behind on my tv watching. and I should vaccum up the dust I made earlier. and it is rainning. this is too early for the rains to start.

pout, whine , bitch , moan.

Fell better , Hil.

move out and draw fire

Matilda proves to be a champion rally monkey as the A's win two at the Metrodome. I think it is not insignicant that she was born on the day they clinched.

I think you should write to ESPN and explain the Power that is Matilda, since they've been flailing all over themselves trying to explain how the A's are winning when they predicted the Twins would go 4 straight. After all, a West Coast small-market team can't be any good.

Kinda sorry I missed the fluffling, but I had a nice full night's sleep with no interruptions, so all is well.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Suzi, I'm very glad your mom's making progress.
