Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Should the Smallville stuff be whitefonted?

What do people have planned for the weekend? Exciting stuff? Lazy stuff?

Getting my hair cut and maybe colored, cleaning, then seeing Matilda and her parents.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

What do people have planned for the weekend? Exciting stuff? Lazy stuff?

Tonight, working at the restaurant until goddess knows when.

Tomorrow, volunteering for the Asthma Walk and then rushing back to the restaurant to be open in time for the North Beach Beer Run. What we're going to serve them is up in the air, since we're down to ~10 bottles of wine, 1/2 a pony keg of Stella, 1 Corona, and 2 cases of Amstel Light as of today. We're closing permanently on Saturday, so we're sure as hell not ordering anything else. Hopefully we have enough sangria to last us.

Sunday, jack and shit. Hopefully going to see Matilda & her entourage, but I can't make any promises. There will be sleeping, I can promise that.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

We are indeed NAFDA. I don't know if I can bear myself to watch Smallville, though, no matter how gay it gets or how intriguing bringing in Ollie is. All my dumb show reserves are used up on the Stargates.

There needs to be a "gay parts" version, a la good parts. Lana makes me want to hurl--despite her parents being allegedly dead! Daddy Luthor is delightfully evil, and JM is always a delight, but the rest of it. Maybe someone needs to put together a gay index and I can just rent the DVDs.

What is even happening?

Aren't we Nafda here?

sumi, I think the Bitches thread was designated NAFDA originally, so we could talk about new episodes of BtVS (in a Spike-centric sort of way) without white font.

For the last few years, the unofficial practice in non-show NAFDA threads (this and Minearverse) has been to white font discussion (for the last few years, anyhow). The FAQ doesn't really address non-show NAFDA threads, but the practice seems to be a logical extension of what is in the FAQ (see bolded section below):

Q. NAFDA? Is that an international Buffista treaty?
A. Ummm..... No. It's the North American Free Discussion Area. We have many posters who aren't from North America and are therefore half a season or more behind. In order to keep them unspoiled, we limit discussion of current episodes to specific threads. These are the NAFDA threads. If it's not labeled as a NAFDA thread, don't talk about current episodes in it. We also ask that you don't discuss one show's current season in another show's topic without whitefont, because some people are on tape delay. This means that events from the current season of Buffy should be whitefonted in the Angel topic and vice versa.

On the other hand though, I have never understood why we talk about current shows in Natter, considering the FAQ says, "If it's not labeled as a NAFDA thread, don't talk about current episodes in it," and Natter isn't NAFDA. That's how it's worked out, I guess, as we've decided to resist thread proliferation.

(For what it's worth, I don't have any personal need for Smallville talk to be white fonted in here.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've seen it in Minearverse, less so here. I do remember doing the not-quite-focussed skimmy thing in Bitches a few time when I was behind.

I have never understood why we talk about current shows in Natter

Because the thread header says you can?

What is even happening?

ita, I'm sorry I failed to make that clear. The conflict between [the Natter thread header + accepted practice] and the NAFDA FAQ entry is what I find confusing. I'm not trying to change what we do. I think it works well, in practice, for people who understand the practice.

I'm getting the pig!

I am painting walls this weekend

Woot! We'll need pics when it's completed.

We have had busy weekends the last few weeks and Teacup Guy is exhausted, so it's time for some quiet.

Good for you both. The relaxing and doing nothing weekends are just that much better when you have someone else around to snuggle and veg with. IMO, anyway.

Getting my hair cut and maybe colored, cleaning, then seeing Matilda and her parents.

You're taking pictures, right? Lots and lots of pictures? We could maybe even get one of you with your newly cut hair and holding the wee babe...

Sunday, jack and shit. Hopefully going to see Matilda & her entourage, but I can't make any promises. There will be sleeping, I can promise that.

Your Saturday night plans sound like FUN! And for Sunday, you could seriously use some down time, hon, so take it where you can get it. I'm pretty sure Matilda will still be quite wee next weekend.
