Well as long as you're laughing with me.
I tried to bury my head beneath the pillow and get back to sleep towards the end, but then the alarm started going off, so I was doomed.
Getting other pain meds can happen and hopefully she will ask the nurse for some. I'm not there to help with that and it is frustrating.
I hope they get her some effective meds soon, and she feels better.
Hey, whatcha doing this weekend? If I'm not helping the Zmayhems, wanna go to the petting zoo? (That's for Juliana too)
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HEE!!!! insert other sounds of slightly maniacal laughter here
I would love to go to the petting zoo. I would also love to go see JZ this weekend. I don't know that either of those are happening. Well, the JZ thing might, because IIRC, the hospital isn't too far away from GG Park where I have been volunteered to work the WF booth for the AsthmaWalk this Saturday.
Seriously, people. I'm an admin because I'm lazy and I wanted time to do theater. This job ain't supposed to be that high-powered. I'm working 45+ hour weeks at this point, and that's before I add in working the entire weekend at the restaurant.

but her central line leaks so the meds weren't getting in her system, so that went away.
Then they should put in a new one! God, it just makes me so angry -- my mom has been chronically (and sometimes dangerously) ill with lupus since I was a kid, and for every fabulous nurse, doctor, and hospital she's been in, she's had trouble like this. Fighting for what you need when you're the patient, and in pain, is so difficult. And a lot of doctors don't make clear that you're perfectly entitled to ask questions and advocate on your own behalf.
Sorry. It's a button of mine. I hope she can get some relief soon, Suzi. And big hugs for you.
Poor David. I shouldn't be laughing at you. So I'm laughing with you. (Had a sleepless baby night last night, feel your pain like whoa.)
I'm sort of laughing along with both of you. We also did the freak-ass schedule last night for some reason. Liv went to bed at 10. I went to bed at midnight, had some difficulty falling asleep. Then Liv got up at 1:30. And at 2:00. And I gave up trying to get her back to sleep by 3:00.
She finally went back down for good at 4:30. And Owen got up at 6:30. I squeezed in a little sleep between 5 and 7:30--DH got up with Owen before he went to work but he had to wake me when it was time to leave.
Serpentine!
It's a great, classic moment. Did they do "Serpentine!" in the crappy remake?
{{{Suzi's mom}}} My cousin has received a kidney from one of his brothers and his mother (after the first donated one failed). I can't get over how much they have to cut you open to do this! I hope they can take care of her pain quickly.
Hey, all. Halloweenie! Or, um SeptembeWeenie? I skipped and skimmed to check in while my students are watching a movie.
Yeah, for JZ and David! SO exciting! And remind to nevernevernever have a baby! Yowch.
I have SO MANY BOOKS in my classroom. AND I get bookshelves hopefully tomorrow.
Ok, gotta go.

{{HecBrain}} I'm so glad everything is going well and they get to come home on Saturday. You're such a good dad. Matilda is a lucky girl to have the wonderful parents and brother she's got.
Hec, if'n you're in the mood to answer a musical question, Nick has been interested in some music with a jazzy sound ala the demon in OMWF. He wants to find something similar to soak his brain in, but has had difficulty finding quite the right sound. The closest thing I can come to it is the soundtrack to Chicago. Any suggestions you'd like to impart?
