Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm guzzling down my coffee. Some odd impulse to rush back to the hospital. Wonder where that's coming from...

I've been remiss, so let me catch up.

Congratulations, ND! I've seen (heard?) your work and it's well deserved.

Happy birthday, Nicole, you gorgeous hussy you.

Yay for Suzi's mom!

Yay for Sean's S! Health-ma to you.

What an unpleasant welcome to the world.

Poor little critter's got tubes coming out of her hands and monitors plastered all over her and people shoving vacuums down her throat!

JZ said she was much comforted by lying skin to skin with her in the NICU. So I'm going to shower and hustle over to give my babygirl some TLC.

Punishingly Intricate

Matilda had to be taken to the NICU last night

aww poor little nugget and her people! Are you guys at USF? If so, I've spent time in that NICU (friends' baby had a traumatic birth suffice it to say he's a whip-smart, cutie head 5-year old now). The NICU staff there was awesome. Hope her problem is fixed toot sweet and she's back with her folks in no time.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

give my babygirl some TLC.

Both of your girls, right? Love on them a lot. And tell Matilda to only consume her mama's breast milk from now on!

Poor wee Matilda, getting all that Ick in her tummy and then having to deal with the rudeness of a vacuum going in there after it! Being born is a rough transition, I tell you what.

K, wish me find-parking-make-friends-not-be-the-oldest-love-the-program~ma! I didn't think I'd be nervous, but I am.

you're going to do great, GC. Go kick some grad school ass!

Because books.

Find-parking-make-friends-not-be-the-oldest-love-the-program~ma, GC! I bet you'll be the rock star of the whole place.

Love on JZ and Matilda with all you've got, Hec. It's so very good that they even let JZ lie skin-to-skin with her, since I've always been under the impression that NICU means incubator and hads-off.

The image of the poor little thing with the tubes and wires is making me so sad. I know it's a good thing, but the poor wee thing must be so furious.

I could use some artery~ma for my Dad. He's having yet another angioplasty today, to open up the same vein graft that gets narrowed. At this point, he has an angioplasty to open up this same damned vein abut once a year. This makes probably close to 30 angioplasty procedures for him.

This is as close to "routine" as something like this can be, but I'm asking for good vibes for him because Saturday night I had an utterly terrifying dream -- and utterly realistic, unlike most of my dreams -- that he died. And I'd prefer that this NOT be one of my prophetic dreams.

So, 11 a.m. board time (2 p.m. EST). Thanks.

Poor little Matilda. May she be feeling all better already. Oof, and comfort to JZ in her healing.

Happy Birthday, Nicole!!

Congratulations, ND! Fantastic.
