Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
he first half of their review is entirely lifted from his! (It's paraphrased except for the bits they've got quotes around, and they do call the section "review of reviews," but still...if it's just a roundup of what other critics have already said, it seems odd to edit it together into what looks like a new review.
Yeah, that's The Week's schtick, for reviews, and news, etc. Some quotes, some paraphrased. It's their whole style and reason for being. I love it, because I can get the cliff notes of weekly news. Also, I love the homes of the week spread.
Sorry about the problem with your monthlies, Robin. Guess you'll have to stick to hand jobs today(/The Gem)
(Not implying anything about our friend's virtue...swear I'm not. It's a Deadwood thing.)
Skipping ahead to gleefully pronounce that WE HAVE SUN!!!! We had a bit of sun last Sunday, but I had a migraine and missed it. Today, we have some blue sky, and I
actually can see it!!!
Combine that with our hiring freeze being lifted, and I went from doldrums to doing Numfar's Dance of Joy is 3.6 seconds flat.
I'm starting to think that the weather here is making me bipolar, but since I'm on the upswing, I think I'm just going to enjoy it.
And now, I will go back and read lovely messages from Fay and vw and all you other fine, fine folk.
Yay, Calli & Jars!!!

I'm back at work today after being gone all week last week. I didn't really miss it.
Ok. Left house. Shipped nine very Buffista packages (5 to Emily, 2 to Erin, 1 to Daniel, and 1 to a non-Buffista) for the steal of $200.
Back in my AC. Bless it. Not leaving again today.
Yay, Calli!
Yay, Jars!

I snapped at him and then we both felt bad. Me for snapping right before he flew on an airplane, which I know makes him really anxious and him for being advice dude when he knew I was sick. We both apologized and it was okay, but I don't like getting snappy--even once in a while.
Robin, I know this scenario well. Sympathies.
Calli! That job rocks like a rocking thing!
Jars, wow and dang. I'm thirding or whatever the joy for getting to live with your best friend. And sex! We also got married a lot sooner than we'd planned due to joining the Foreign Service, but since we'd known for years that we'd get married eventually, not really the same thing and shutting up now.
Still, I hope the bureaucraxy isn't horrible.
I'm reading essays about what it's like to be a Foreign Service spouse and wondering what my life is, coz it isn't what these women (and one man) describe.
CALLI!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the way to do! I'm so happy for you. I know you were ready to take it for the same money. I didn't know about the great bennies. But more money (even slightly more is more and it sure isn't less). Woo hoo!!! Plus, that job is so up your alley. I'm so happy for you. I think I said that before. But I am. So there.
Jars, I wish you and your boy the very best, and some peace of mind with whatever decision you reach, and action you take. If it was going to happen eventually, let go the worries and drink in the happy.
Blargh. Okay, just got off the phone with a doctor, talking about how things have been progressing (or not) since we were discharged. He's told us to come in to the hospital nowish, for what will hopefully just be an outpatient procedure. Possibly a bit of a short stay, but we're both hoping like hell to avoid that.
