Angel: Yeah, I never told anyone about this, but I-I liked your poems. Spike: You like Barry Manilow.

'Hell Bound'

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

ran out of hot water (this is quite mysterious, as I have a water heater in my kitchen)

Emily, I had an apartment where I had to turn on the hot water just long enough to get the water heater to fire up. After 5-10 minutes there would be enough hot water for a shower.

Thanks Nora -- the first half of their review is entirely lifted from his! (It's paraphrased except for the bits they've got quotes around, and they do call the section "review of reviews," but still...if it's just a roundup of what other critics have already said, it seems odd to edit it together into what looks like a new review.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

First, hooray Calli and Jars! I also want to vouch for marrying one's best friend. Nothing better than being able to come home to your favorite person every day.

Of course, I say this while in a bit of funk. I woke up with the World's Worst Cramps--the kind that makle me shake and puke and all kinds of lovely stuff. I had to drive DH to the airport this morning (only five minutes away, so I figured I could do it and refused his offer to get a cab) and we got in the car and he started giving me advice about not storing my skates out in the open so they don't get stolen. Good advice and I agree, but that was NOT the time. I snapped at him and then we both felt bad. Me for snapping right before he flew on an airplane, which I know makes him really anxious and him for being advice dude when he knew I was sick. We both apologized and it was okay, but I don't like getting snappy--even once in a while. I called in sick to work and am watching "Dirty Jobs" and trying not to move.

Yeah, that's The Week's schtick, for reviews, and news, etc. Some quotes, some paraphrased. It's their whole style and reason for being. I love it, because I can get the cliff notes of weekly news. Also, I love the homes of the week spread.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

Sorry about the problem with your monthlies, Robin. Guess you'll have to stick to hand jobs today(/The Gem) (Not implying anything about our friend's virtue...swear I'm not. It's a Deadwood thing.)

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Skipping ahead to gleefully pronounce that WE HAVE SUN!!!! We had a bit of sun last Sunday, but I had a migraine and missed it. Today, we have some blue sky, and I actually can see it!!!

Combine that with our hiring freeze being lifted, and I went from doldrums to doing Numfar's Dance of Joy is 3.6 seconds flat.

I'm starting to think that the weather here is making me bipolar, but since I'm on the upswing, I think I'm just going to enjoy it.

And now, I will go back and read lovely messages from Fay and vw and all you other fine, fine folk.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, Calli & Jars!!!

I'm back at work today after being gone all week last week. I didn't really miss it.
