'Beneath You'

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Back from North Beach where we had a big sized crowd there to celebrate the Empress.

Aimee took a picture of JZ's belly so that'll make it's way online eventually.

Got to meet Juliana's guy. I liked him. P-Cow was there. Deb told embarrassing stories about ita. That was fun.

I didn't get the news on Suzi's mom before the dinner so I was mostly indulging A's talk when I got a chance with her.

We sat down by Sparky and her DH, and Emily so that was good for catching up.

We scarpered off so I could get the pregnant lady into bed, but most folks were off to Enrico's for drinks. I expect Aimee and Juliana will do some significant romping in North Beach tonight.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Would it be evil if I took bereavement leave on Monday so that I could take the computer to the shop?

Nope. Do you get bereavement for a grandparent? It's often limited to immediate family - spouse, parents, sibs and kids.

I think I do...not sure, though. One of my coworkers (who I have her cellphone number--don't have my boss') is checking for me. I'm pretty sure I do, but it's a question of how much. I think we get 3 days for immediate family and 1 day for aunts/uncles, but we'll see. And not sure where grandparents falls on that.

(It's more a "if I get three days, then I'll seriously think about driving home for a couple of them, but if I only get one day, then it probably isn't worth it")

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Embarassing stories about me? I'm not sure where she'd find them.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Enrico's turned out to be waaay too crowded, so we (minus Deb, who split off shortly after we left Enrico's) ended up at Amante. It's kind of nice going out with juliana and her gentleman, since they know everybody in North Beach bars and restaurants.

And then I totally was exhausted and headed home. Splurged on a cab all the way home (rather than just to the BART station) and chatted with the cab driver. She, unusually, seemed to actually know the city.

Right now Aimee, Juliana, Juliana's Friend, and SuziQ should be off enjoying the next bar of the evening, and I am in bed about to indulge in a Doom knockoff. Yay!

What is even happening?

Grandma was 90, and not really with it the past few years, so in general, not a huge shocker. Just the whole "Oh, I didn't mention she was in the hospital the past week? By the way, she died..." was odd. :)

I'm so sorry for your loss, meara. Peace to you and your whole family.

As far as your mom goes, it's a really weird-feeling thing to have to tell other family members. I've usually been the recipient of the message, not the messenger, but the few times I've had to do the telling, it was like I wasn't even me.

Wow. Much happening...

Suzi! So much ~ma! Hoping you're at the hospital now for the transplant.

meara, hugs and peace and ~ma and love to you and your family.

YAY for SF fun with the Empress!

Off to breakfast with the folks. Mom is feeling brave enough to go out of the house. Go mom! (We skipped church this morning. She's not feeling *that* well. So, I attended the church of two Veronica Mars episodes. It's a good church.)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

We (Suzi, juliana, and myself) are up and preparing for the 5K.

I am so tired, my first thought whenthe alarm went off this morning was "Fuck the boobies. They can walk for themselves."

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I missed the chance to have a 5-way with Drew? Bother. Well, if you're in town much longer, feel free to give me a call, definitely!
