Willow: Were there dolphins? Tara: Yes. Many dolphins at the pound. Willow: Was there a camel? Tara: There was the front of a camel. A half-camel.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sj, if you think it would at all help, I'd be happy to try to talk to TG and explain to him that there are some times when trying to help, no matter how noble or helpful, actually can make things worse, and that those times he should just sit quietly, or go somewhere else, and just bask in the happiness of having such a wonderful woman in his life.

Thanks, Sean. That’s sweet but probably not necessary. I think it is something we just need to work out on our own. I know that he is really just concerned and wants to help and make things better; I should probably talk to him about it when I don’t feel like I am going to lose it any second. Today things are much better. We went out to Wickford Village and walked around with Mom and Stepdad. Now everyone is resting and/or reading. I think I’ll take a nap soon.

Also, S and I both got our first really good night's sleep last night, for the first time in weeks. S didn't quite sleep through the night, but she wasn't up for long, and when she did sleep, she slept long and well. This is very good.

Yay! Sleep is so important.

Librarian Warlord

A little of that patented Buffista ~ma for Dan Murphy, one of the pilots that was shot at our local hang-gliding site, and others who will benefit from what a good human being he was. I'm going to quote one of his good friends here, since I am only ever exchanged a word or two with him on launch at Ft. Funston: "Dan will go into the O.R. around 1:00 PM this afternoon to donate his organs. His spirit was freed some time ago and now his physical remains will help others continue their quest for their own flight. Dan will live on in both body and spirit! Best wishes Dan, our hearts soar with you."

Our wings are not tired.

Rest in peace, Dan. Such a senseless loss.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

~ma to EVERYONE! Good grief, August has been rough.

Here is the thing I've been looking for and didn't even know it: antimicrobial gloves for city wear. The links at the bottom don't seem to work; you have to type in the addresses of each page. A pain, yes, but still worth a look.

What is even happening?

Oh Sparky, I'm so sorry to learn of his passing. That quote from Dan's friend is such a lovely tribute. Peace to Dan, and all of his family and friends.

Sail! Yikes! I'm glad your dad is okay.

Oh, yeah. I went out and looked. It was a much bigger tree than I remembered. Still, remarkably little damage all things considered. The tree was half dead, which is probably why it fell; there just wasn't enough of a root system left on that side to anchor it in the extremely soft soil. The insurance adjuster is coming out Monday to look it over. I'm kinda hoping dad can get a whole new garage out of the deal. If anything, it would force my brother to get all his junk of the garage so they could actually park cars in it.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Peace to Dan and his friends and family. This is such a senseless tragedy. I hope that Dan's family and friends get some comfort from his gift of life.
