Angel: If I'm not back in a couple of hours— Gunn: You're dead, we're screwed, end of the world.

'Underneath'

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I should pick your brain sometime in the next couple of weeks because I have an interview at the end of the month at a school you attended, and I really want the offer.

Ahh, yes. Do you still have my email address and cell phone number?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

JZ, a big "Woo hoo!" for a return to the world of the vertical.

Thanks! Although, of course, now that I'm able to be up and about again my former desperate hunger to go back to work has completely vanished. I can walk around and write and sew and draw and go to the movies and go out visiting people! Work? Fuck that noise! Except that the doctor has already contacted my personnel office, so the jig is up.

Maybe if I make myself look extra-pale before heading to the doctor's office today, I can at least malinger my way to returning just half-time.

Punishingly Intricate

whoo my friend's company accepted my freelance bid thingy. Now I'm going to have 3 jobs going through October -- my regular day job, my Sat. gig at my friends' bookstore, and proofreading about 900 pages o' crazy English as a second language educational material. I'm totally going to need a vacation at the end of it. A lovely tropical vacation. sigh...really I need to pay down credit card bills.

hooray for JZ being up and about! Boo on having to waste that good up and about time being at work!

Hmmm. I should check and see if the apples on our tree are ripe yet. I have no idea what strain they are; they're crisp, and a perfect melding of sweet & tart.

I am always so disappointed by Red Delicious apples. They look so pretty!

Herding cats for fun

Work? Fuck that noise!

Heh. I am twelve too. I say you should malinger and shirk.

Mmmm, Waldorf salad. Mayonnaise and apples and raisins all sounds so wrong but tastes so good.

I wish I had the proofreading job. Pout. I think I even have a non-repro blue pen around somewheres.

Seekrit Message for SailAweigh: You've just been virtually butt-patted! Hahahaha! (I DID say, I am twelve)

Off to the grocery story. I think I gotta try the one with the good produce department and check out the apples.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

========================0-1

(Puppycat wants to post apparently.)

I adore my cattery. They are only open from 8-10 and then from 4-6. I went there this morning at 9 to visit Kittenish and they let me take her into their playroom. Didn't kick me out until 11:30 when they were leaving for lunch. And she really likes one of the women there. Looks sooooo much better and hopefully she'll get to come home tomorrow if the test results come back. Cannot find the words to explain how relieved I am. It's not over, but spending the whole morning with her was lovely.

What is even happening?

And she really likes one of the women there.
This is a major victory, isn't it? Kittenish is the skittish kitty, yes?

Your cats are so blessed to be loved like this, Cass. I'm glad she's doing better.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Phooey. Got the official word. Back to work tomorrow.

On the upside, the Halloweenie is still head-down and has a nice robust heartbeat.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yay for the good Halloweenie news, JZ, and boo for the bad work news. Still, better than durance vile, yes?

Birthday Felicitations, P-C!

I like Pink Lady apples, and Pacific Rose, though they're hard to find. We usually have to settle for Braeburn and Gala, though. Still, apples, yum!

Cass, I'm so glad the kitty's doing better and the cattery people are good at their jobs.

There was more, but I have forgotted it. I'ma take my achy knees off to the comfy couch and a fluffy blankee to read a bit before Eureka comes on.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Am happy that Kittenish is doing well, though sad that JZ has to head back to work.

I'm at the chiro office. I'm hoping I will feel better when I leave, because ow.
