Ok, I am irrationally upset about Steve Irwin. I'm gonna go curl up and cry for a bit.
'Hell Bound'
Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Me too, Aimee, me too. Illogical, but yet...
Dude, Aims! Me too!
I have no idea why Steve Irwin's death is making me want to curl up and suck my thumb, but it totally is.
I feel awful for his family. He seemed like he had all this enthusiasm, and would have been a great dad for his kids. And he really cared about stuff.
Weird.
I guess because he was an icon. Someone close to our age who seemed to be living an exciting life that we could escape into occasionally. We always knew there were dangers in what he did, but somehow we always expected him to be the one to beat the odds. His poor family, I feel so sorry for the wife and kids.
That sucks! Steve Irwin dead! Totally sucks!
You didn’t happen to be at Fred P. Otts a year? Two? Ago when ND was in town?
I'm pretty sure he was there. Was that the night we were talking about the Hello Kitty vibrators?
Yup, that was the night!
My top two news feed headlines are Steve Irwin and Andre Agassi. I know Agassi's not dead, but he's another person who is about my age and whose career is over.
At least Irwin being killed in the line of duty was somewhat expected and doesn't really count as irony.
Thanks for the sentiments, guys.
Agassi's career lasted a hell of a long time. He's past his expiration date, and doing quite well, considering. He'll be okay.
Steve Irwin is startling. I have no affection for the guy, but his death-defying was on the scale which made me think he could get away with it forever. Not running into blazing buildings or trick jumping over twenty motorcycles.
eta: Having read articles it seems he died under unlikely circumstances--ironic enough for Alanis, I think.
I'm still awake, darn it.
