If not "This will make me mayor," then what?
Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I don't know. The look on his face when he walked down the street alone was so conflicted, it seems like he must have had quite a conversation with himself to come to the decision.
Yeah, I was being a little flippant. But I do think that Carcetti has a couple of little people on his shoulders, one of whom that cares about Baltimore and fixing its problems and the other that says, "Governor in two years". I don't know which one has the halo and which one the horns, though.
Yeah, I see what you mean.
The way anyone who cares about ANYTHING gets fucked so consistently, that political shoulder-person is probably doing him a lot of good.
Sometimes I like Carcetti, sometimes he really bothers me. Maybe he did really think Hamsterdam was wrong, in addition to being wicked ambitious. IME, sometimes people trying to do The Right Thing are the worst.
I liked that Mayor Royce considered it mostly for the right reasons.
That's true. There's so much distateful about Royce and his political machine ways, it's easy to forget that.
I have to wonder if Johnny would have died, or so quickly, anyway, if there hadn't been a Hamsterdam. As much good as it did for so many others. And once I start thinking down that road I have to wonder where he was coming up with the money for his dope without Bubbles bringing him along.
IME, sometimes people trying to do The Right Thing are the worst.
Yeah. It's hard to remember that after watching him order opponents' signs to be removed and all that just now.
So far, I like Carcetti much better when he's sure he has no chance than when he's trying to win.
Dude. Omar just hit the poker game.
To be fair, that's one hell of a nice ring.
I might be getting season one of The Wire soon. And then I will know what ya'll are talking about. *g*
