Dudes, The Sheild is made of awesome! It's character-driven and arcy and morally ambiguous!
I don't know that I'd start with this season, though - when I say it's arcy, there's stuff being dealt with now that goes back 6 seasons. I honestly can't think of a show with better continuity. So rent the DVDs and catch up before jumping in.)
(sorry for the serial posting- I'm posting from my phone.)
I hope we don't need to vote on this. It seems like a minor enough change to make by bullshit consensus.
I'd rather avoid lightbulbs until we know it's taken off and it's a good fit -- start discussing the other cussing-and-fucking shows, and if the BS consensus sticks, we can worry about making it official later.
Fine with me. I mentioned in b'crazy anyway, so that if people are wondering where we talk about such things they know to look here first.
So the Riches! Man, what a freakin' show. This most recent episode had me alternately squeeing and tearful. I think the best part was when Dahlia and Wayne come in to the lawyer's office and start speaking with these posh British accents, and I just started to crack up at the subtext of it all.
F/X = poor man's Premium Cable, started by former HBO Execs. I'm loving The Riches, Nip|Tuck, Rescue Me. I'm game, even if I end up reading later more than posting during, due to still being a Luddite without a home computer.
I don't think Premium's ever done w&p, javacat. Not to worry.
Yeah -- I know I'm not the only one here living on netflix and spoilers.
(to clarify, not spoilers posted in this thread, but knowing what's the what even when I'm not about to pay the cable goons for the current season.)
Oh, mos def, amych.
I'm gonna be sad that we had to cancel HBO when the Sopranos are back on again.
It is pretty impressive how they've been able to put together strong programming over the last six years. I remember (she says, waving her cane) when it was literally nothing but re-runs. So it's a pleasant surprise that they've managed to do such edgy programming for a cable station.
I remembered something else awesome about this week's Riches--the look on Cael's face when he realised his girl was betraying him. That was some damn fine acting. He went through a whole range of emotions without saying a word, which is pretty impressive given his age.
