Full subplot as I recall it:

In an early episode, a homeless man comes in and inside his outerwear there are 3 rats, who get loose.

They show up a few other times, with various people freaking out about them.

Whitaker get ahold of one and snaps it's neck, farm kid that he is.

Toward the end of the season, there's an exploitative "journalist" who is raving about rats as he is handed off to night shift, who think he's hallucinating. This is the button on the plot.

You missed the part where one of the patients shows up in the ER with a terrier! Who does the thing that terriers were bred for!

Oh, yeah!

Which reminds me that I saw where Alan Sepinwall wrote something about how much he loves Terriers that may get me to subscribe to his newsletter or whatever

The Pitt 2.7, no rats but the sexual assault victim is not an easy storyline. I mean, none of them are with this show, but, yeah.

Yes! Someone pointed out that this season is all about things that DONT happen in a day, and having some follow-up and fallout from last time is a good manifestation of that.
