I really liked Paradise! I’m not sure it’s what you’re looking for, although I haven’t seen Godzilla Minus One to really compare. I wanna say Paradise is more of a political thriller but it’s really well written and performed and definitely has apocalyptic elements.

Eta: also didn’t realize there’ll be a season 2.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I enjoyed Paradise a great deal and am looking forward to the next season. I feel like the plotting and acting are particularly well executed.

The Pitt: no rats this week. I am really liking the sister of the guy who got tased. The way she says “ok” every time she gets told something that she really wants to fight against but has to accept (at least for now) really conveys that she’s had to do that many times.

KotSK is getting good, but I gotta say giving episode 4 the title Seven is confusing.

Our wings are not tired.

Agree, T. The actor is REALLY good. It would be easy to go over the top and obvious there, but she’s nailing it.

Yeah, it’s a very understated performance but I feel like I know exactly how she feels all the time.

No rats this week, just hot dogs.

I’m not even mad for Louie. Sad, but some nice storytelling

Can someone let me know in spoiler font if needed, more about this rat situation? I am feeling very skittish about them right now (nearby construction has caused chaos) and hoping to watch the rest of S1 soonish

I think it was just a couple of episodes in season 1? But I’d have to rewatch to be sure and I’m not up for that right now. Actually a nice moment for Whitaker involving them is mostly what I remember but there were some, like jump scares.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Full subplot as I recall it:

In an early episode, a homeless man comes in and inside his outerwear there are 3 rats, who get loose.

They show up a few other times, with various people freaking out about them.

Whitaker get ahold of one and snaps it's neck, farm kid that he is.

Toward the end of the season, there's an exploitative "journalist" who is raving about rats as he is handed off to night shift, who think he's hallucinating. This is the button on the plot.
