It's only six 30-minute episodes and I gobbled it up like a delicious sorbet on a hot summer day.
I am so into thirty minute shows! I swear an hour feels like a commitment I can barely keep some nights.
I've been rewatching the Prisoner and I'm always surprised that it's an hour long. "Oh shit, there's more plot happening! Can't you cut to the existential/absurdist/cynical twist already!"
That's one reason I got into Fleabag S1 when it first came out.
Tell me about it. I just don't have the brain span for a full hour show nowadays. All my recent binges have been half hour comedies --
Ted Lasso, Mythic Quest,
and
Starstruck.
Right now, I'm watching
Hacks
on HBO Max, which is fantastic albeit more caustic compared to the other three. Thankfully, it's also 30 mins per episode, glory be.
Adds name to list of people who treasure the 30 minute episode. So much less commitment.
Yeah, I've been stalled out on all the 1-hour streaming series I'm in the middle of other than Marvel Shows because I just never seem to feel in the mood for catching up. The regular 1 episode per week releases are a godsend; clearly I am not built for binge watching.
I just figured out that the reason I don't have the attention span for hardly any TV but I can read is that when my mind wanders during a show I just miss whatever happened, even with being able to rewind a bit I fall out of my audience state or something, while just realizing that I have no idea what the last paragraph said and reading it again doesn't disrupt me at all...30 minutes is more likely to be doable than an hour, though, for sure

Are you watching Station Eleven, sumi? Other Buffistas? A Twitter mutual recommended it to me today. I might check it out and was wondering what you all think of it.
Not watching it yet, but plan to. Really enjoyed the book. Trying to coordinate viewing with friends.
I am finding myself strangely reluctant to watch it. I don't think I have a reason for that. I know I was also strangely reluctant to read the book but I did end up liking it when I got around to it. Maybe this is just some weird mental block that doesn't come up very much. Or maybe it's the pandemic. Dunno.
I think if I'd watched Station Eleven in 2018 I'd have loved it. Right now, it's really really good, but OOF. Pandemic.
