I am finding myself strangely reluctant to watch it. I don't think I have a reason for that. I know I was also strangely reluctant to read the book but I did end up liking it when I got around to it. Maybe this is just some weird mental block that doesn't come up very much. Or maybe it's the pandemic. Dunno.

[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I think if I'd watched Station Eleven in 2018 I'd have loved it. Right now, it's really really good, but OOF. Pandemic.
Station Eleven
We ended up watching the first five episodes on either Christmas night or the next day. I can't remember. It really is an OOF, Jess. The latest episodes 1.6 and 1.7, * especially, really hit me hard. I think because I watched them yesterday, knowing Omicron doing its damndest to cripple our healthcare system. And I guess none of this is a spoiler, but I'm just going to let the spoiler font stay. * I was surprised HBO released two episodes in one week.
Also, is this the right thread for this (as opposed to the streaming thread)?

If anyone's up for a round of housekeeping on the board, we could probably combine these threads - the only real difference at this point is that HBO's been around longer than cord-cutting, right?
I loved Station Eleven and also YellowJackets!
I just started watching it. I have to admit that right now what I can handle right now are British gardening & home makeover shows so I’m kind of behind on most shows.
Oh, I just saw that Paulie Walnuts died. Sad now. Erica, thinking of you!
HOTD was OK, I guess? Hard to tell from just this one episode.
I have been debating whether I want to watch it. It feels like picking up an obligation that might be too much. But I do have time today.
Can I watch it without seeing/reading GOT?
