I loved the scene where newly reconstructed Cooper is hanging out with Sunny Jim, figuring out pancakes.

[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I never watched Twin Peaks the first time around so I am just going to put that on my summer viewing list.
nor did I watch "Fire Walk With Me" - did the latter impact this new series at all?
Apparently Fire Walk With Me is important to the new series. Agent Jeffers that Black Lodge Dale asked if he was talking to, and who was mentioned in the interrogation with Albert and Gordon Cole was an agent played by David Bowie.
I saw Fire Walk with Me and I remember almost nothing. I guess it's time for a rewatch.
I watched the first ep before bed last night and could not sleep. It hit some of my primal fear areas, especially those shots of driving in the woods, lit only by car lights. And that weird demon in the glass box. Ahhhhh !
Also, I would say the ending of the series is important in that the opening of first episode of this series has a lot of callbacks to the last episode.
I did not care for Fire Walk With Me, but I think it is important, as well as the show's final episode.
Also if I do not see Audrey Horne soon, I think I will go out of my mind!
It's a shame Frank Silva is no longer with us. I can't imagine that they'll be able to find anyone who can bring that level of creepiness, particularly with Crispin Glover already committed to American Gods.
I love Fire Walk With Me though it was a huge flop when it came out because everybody expected it to complete the cliffhangers of the series.
For me, though, it was like when you re-watch Buffy and you have this sense of tragedy hanging over the characters who die. You know Laura Palmer is going to die and it's so weighty and strange and sad.
I'm two episodes in and I'm loving it. Although, much like attending a Poi Dog Pondering concert, it reminds me how much my peer group has aged.

Oh man. I loved Poi Dog Pondering at uni.
I could not hang with Fire Walk With Me. I remember thinking that all the quirk and humor that I loved in the show was not present in the movie at all. I'm so not good with jumpy-outy horror stuff, so I'm probably not the best reviewer.
But being a mad fan of Micheal J. Anderson (especially on Picket Fences), I could not NOT watch it.
eta: Oh my. Just googled M J A and discovered that the cheese seems to have slipped off his cracker since the Picket Fences day, which is why he is not in the TPeaks reboot.
Sad now.
