[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Is this where we'll be discussing the new Twin Peaks? On one hand, it's Showtime. On the other hand, I think it's going to be a streaming option on Hulu (albeit a premium one).
I watched the new Twin Peaks. And I realized that I cannot recall how the original series ended nor did I watch "Fire Walk With Me" - did the latter impact this new series at all? Or should I, in the two weeks prior to the next episode (s?) just rewatch the original series?
Oooh, same. I actually added Showtime to my Hulu subscription so I can watch, but I haven't yet, because I realized what sumi just said.
I loved the scene where newly reconstructed Cooper is hanging out with Sunny Jim, figuring out pancakes.
I never watched Twin Peaks the first time around so I am just going to put that on my summer viewing list.
nor did I watch "Fire Walk With Me" - did the latter impact this new series at all?
Apparently Fire Walk With Me is important to the new series. Agent Jeffers that Black Lodge Dale asked if he was talking to, and who was mentioned in the interrogation with Albert and Gordon Cole was an agent played by David Bowie.
I saw Fire Walk with Me and I remember almost nothing. I guess it's time for a rewatch.
I watched the first ep before bed last night and could not sleep. It hit some of my primal fear areas, especially those shots of driving in the woods, lit only by car lights. And that weird demon in the glass box. Ahhhhh !
Also, I would say the ending of the series is important in that the opening of first episode of this series has a lot of callbacks to the last episode.
I did not care for Fire Walk With Me, but I think it is important, as well as the show's final episode.
Also if I do not see Audrey Horne soon, I think I will go out of my mind!
It's a shame Frank Silva is no longer with us. I can't imagine that they'll be able to find anyone who can bring that level of creepiness, particularly with Crispin Glover already committed to American Gods.
