I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I plan on finishing off the second season of The Wire tonight. I think I have the third season stored on my husband's desktop, which has conveniently decided that it needs a new battery of some sort and will not give my TV shows until I get said battery for it. It's a wiley one.

Oh well, still hopeful that I will be able to catch up and watch a season in real time.

Always Anti-fascist!

The second season will always have a special place in my heart, even if Frank made me cry all the time.

It's been really good. Though events conspired to put a 2 week + break in my viewing between "Storm Warnings" and "Bad Dreams", so last night I had to keep pausing so I could try to remember why Nick wasn't home for the warrant and why Stringer wanted the Brother Mouzon dead and stuff like that. It mostly came back to me. I think I'm up to speed, now.

I hope you enjoy it. The last episode of S2 was the first one I saw, and it sure as hell spurred me to go back and catch up, like, immediately.

I started watching with Season 2 as well and was really gripped(no, duh, right) even when I thought of characters as things like Wise Older Cop With Glasses. That's kind of an achievement, don't you think?

Oh, Sobotkas. The woe is just so huge. Everyone is so fucked, none of the crap stops. Argh.

Stupid battery, depriving me of Season 3 instant gratification.

I was born my papa's son
A wanderin' eye and a smokin' gun
Now some of you would live through me
Lock me up and throw away the key
Or just find a place to hide away
Hope that I'll just go away

I feel alright – I feel alright tonight

I'll bring you precious contraband
And ancient tales from distant lands
Of conquerors and concubines and
Conjurers from darker times
Betrayal and conspiracy
Sacrilege and heresy

I feel alright – I feel alright tonight

I got every thing you want or need
Your darkest fear, your fondest dream
I ask you questions, tell you lies
Criticize and sympathize
Be careful what you wish for friend
Because I've been to hell and now I'm back again

But I feel alright – I feel alright tonight

Sorry for the Steve Earle quotage. I think that season-ending montage is still just a stunning piece of filmmaking that somehow makes being set to a three-minute pop song into an overwhelming strength, a way of underlining the class warfare that it indicts.

Edit: MAN, I'm tired. Starting to sound like Noam Chomsky over here, and not in the good way. 'Night, y'all.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Finally got finished with the second season of DEADWOOD. Interesting how Milch decided to re-adjust George Hearst from the way he was in his initial appearence.

I haven't checked recently, but is the cocksucking third season on DVD yet? I've seen all the episodes, but the completist in me won't let me not buy it.
