"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Finally got finished with the second season of DEADWOOD. Interesting how Milch decided to re-adjust George Hearst from the way he was in his initial appearence.

I haven't checked recently, but is the cocksucking third season on DVD yet? I've seen all the episodes, but the completist in me won't let me not buy it.

Always Anti-fascist!

Steve Earle is in some of the eps, isn't he?

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Earle plays Bubs' AA sponsor.

Sorry about the 3rd season not being out yet, Frank. Fuckin' HBO always holds onto DVD releases until the last minute like a consortium of goddamn misers counting their Judas silver.

Actually, from poking around it looks like it will be out in June. I also noticed HBO is still re-running season 3, so I may catch a few of those, but I mainly just want it for completion (and some toaster people of mine who don't get HBO will be wanting to borrow them as well).

Frank, you should stand beholden to no human cocksucker. Don't forget the peaches.

Man, now I *have* to start watching this show.

New Rome tomorrow! Yay!

Yeah, you do. (/simonverse missionary) Yeah, I know...let's pretend I can stop. I've even taken it to "Countdown". Cause KO has this pink tie he wore on election night. It's pretty, I love it, but every time I see it I think "Takes a brave man to wear a pink tie in politics."(everyone else did wear those wonky "power" red and blue ones, come to think of it.) But nobody laughs. Not even the slashers, and you know they *love* a "familiarity with alternative lifestyles." I guess you have to know JimmyNBunk to really get that. For the rest of them, it's an "insect reflection" joke and I'm Tara.

Now tagless for your comfort.

From last night's Rome:

Servilia can really bring it. DH got pissed at me for ruining it with my historical spoilers. Hellooooo, I can't help it I learned Octavia married Anthony in the ninth fucking grade.

I so saw Titus & Gaia coming from a mile away. Poor Eirene.

Punishingly Intricate

And this is where I am happy to have had such a poor classical education. I had no idea!!!

boy howdy was that ep chock full of major events. I was completely breathless by the end of it.

They sure played up that tension, though. For a second there I thought they were going to rewrite history.

This episode was intense! Which is saying something for a show like Rome that exists to be intense. From that eerily perfect mask of Brutus, to Servillia chanting and killing herself, to Attia feeling every inch of that curse--every moment was bringing just another ratchet of tension.
